I really like your art style, music, and especially animations.

I'm not sure about spamming a button to regain energy as a mechanic - it seems a bit tedious. I enjoy the combat but I wasn't sure how much each special move cost, or if they did different amounts of damage. If the specials are different at all it should be communicated. The UI bar is really helpful at communicating the distances you can trigger the C, M and F special moves, though, which I appreciate. Special moves seem to be a majority of the combat - in that case, some of their animations might be a bit over-long, but I do really enjoy the variety of equipment and animations for each.

The space map is a great framing device for the fights, and the fuel system, with mining asteroids and such, is really cool and fits the 'Resourceful' secondary theme of the jam.

Overall, very good entry.

I was a bit confused by the controls. But I loved the visuals and the music was really great too!

Fuel? Where should I get fuel?

Developer(+2)

You can get fuel by investigating ? events over asteroids or by selling mech parts with right click in the hangar.

NICE! Now my mecha is the strongest in the whole Solar System!! Controls are a little bit unusual.. Punches could do some minimal damage for showing player that the game works actually :)  And sounds, with sounds the game would be so nice. BGM is awesome! But battle sfx are mostly absent :( Anyway I had fun. All these special attacks animations are great!

Asking for Admin Priveldges to run is kinda weird. Can you make a build without that part? :)

Developer(+2)

Sorry it seems Game Maker Legacy asks for it on its own nothing I can do.

This was great fun, really nice gameloop and progression of going around getting equipment and obtaining new weapons from combat. Combat was also very fun and I really like the cutscenes and the music. Constantly pressing A was a little strenous on my finger, but pulling off a nice punch and special attack combo felt great.
I think a little more variety in the combat would have been nice, and a possibility to dodge specials or something would have added to the experience.
A little note - the Hangar Icon was misaligned for me on a 1440p monitor, I had to click above it for it to open the hangar, in case anyone else comes across this issue

Great Project

I am glad you had fun! Unfortunately there were some features that had to get cut because of time constraints the hacking mechanic and such would have been cool if I managed to get it working reliably...!
