Awesome Mechwarrior-like! I noticed that there were gamepad controls when I accidentally moved with it, but I didn't end up using them. I wasn't sure where to find more info on them or how it would even work out with so many buttons that do things. I really enjoyed this, but I do second the critique on needing a more gradual speed increase/decrease. I also think enemies turn around pretty quickly compared to the player. But overall, this is really cool!

Oh yeah, and nice intro!

Oh my gosh... This is exactly what I hope for from a Mech Jam. It's absurd how well this comes together, it has so much of that wonderful Mechwarrior energy running through it that I can't help but adore it. The look of the game is simply to die for;  it has a bit of the "chunkiness" of MechWarrior 2, but focusing on texture work did so much to elevate the style here.

More than anything, you really nailed the *feel* of piloting a mech; cumbersome, heavy as hell, but with this really smooth feel of control to it all. Mechanically, all I could ask for is a bit more of a gradual increase or decrease to the throttle, cause from holding forward down for a second, you start *zooming*.

Aside from that, the sound design is really impactful and strong; seeing you sourced a lot of it from freesound, excellent use of assets.

I can't praise this enough. If I had to pick a winner, I think it would have to be this one. Amazing, fantastic job.

WOah! We have a winner! Even with destructable buildings! (My game has that too, but only 2D.) Good explosions. And the Mechwarrior intro is the cherry on top. Had problems equiping the parts at first. Nice specialFX... nice everything! Blow of parts just like Mechwarrior :]

Intro was so good! I would have loved to see another cutscene during the stage but I eventually died. the AI tended to go in a bit of a circle, attacking me sometimes and other times walking away from me while I was close range hitting it. The map was a nice touch and so was the damage levels. Large maps too, well done on your entry!

The dismemberment and ability to use other mecha parts is a great touch, well done!

Once again a really fantastic game! The intro literally blew me away, it was amazing. Unfortunately I suffered a crash fairly early on. I will definitely play more.

You did it again ! Return of the Mech Warrior + More, impressive entry once again :o

First of all, you made an intro cinematic ! On jam time :O just wow.

The graphics are spot on, i like how you kept a bit of the blockyness of MW2’s style but that you’ve gone for way more detail in the textures this time around. The environement in particular shines here, that fallen city on a frozen planet, simply amazing and i like how you can risk trying to maneover in the streets too and use the buildings as cover, the attention to details here is incredible.

Gameplay wise i really like how you’ve modernized the controls a bit from your source inspiration, where instead of awkwardly controling the torso with keys here you just hold right click and bam it follows the mouse ^-^

Now the truly awesome feature here is of course the scan and partswapping mechanics, that just adds so much to the strategy aspect where you can see if a part’s better than what you got, is the part fit for the chassis heat wise etc… and i also like that it sorta gives a way to repair and regain a bit of health after a tough battle.

My only tiny issue if i had to nitpick is that the partswapping itself would need some instructions, i was able to eventually figure it out, but i feel some steps to swap should be explain a bit more.

Other than that i had a blast playing it, didn’t manage to collect all the cores but i explored a bit, fought a few mechs and got myself into some crazy situations and made (probably) all the wrong loadout choices by trying out different parts just for the hell of it XD

Overall Great job :)

Wow! The game crashed at some point for unknown reason but I had enough time to like it! Ability to rebuild your mecha with parts of  defeated enemies is just awesome! You've made the most advanced mecha game I played so far during this jam. Starting the game I worried that the intro would be the best part. But the following gameplay was even better! Nicely done retro stylized game. The only thing that was not so comfortable is mecha control with constant forwrd/backward speed regulation . But maybe it is just habbit thing.. I 've never operated real mecha so..
