Thanks everyone, for your comments and constructive feedback!

It’s been difficult for me to log-in here at itch.io and review games. I moved recently, literally into a tiny cabin, and basically adopting a new life out here in rural farmland. “Mom N’ Pops” fell off my to-do list after I submitted my first draft.

I honestly appreciate all these kind words. I intend to devote time to revising the rules just a little bit, and making the images for the Subjects larger and easier to draw on. One of these days…

I sincerely appreciate Mammut RPG for hosting this event once again. I hope to be back next year, with more time to invest in reviewing (and providing English translations for) other entries. :)

Onestamente apprezzo tutte queste parole gentili.

Ciao!

Awesome!
This is a beautiful idea, as simple and immediate as captive!
Each tattoo tells its own story, whether it is made of memories or meanings...
Something of the game rules deserves to be better explained, but without a play test what I catch is tone, feel, and style that are awesome and hit the goal of the jam.

Well done!

Cheers and sorry for my English....

EDIT:
There are some suggestions on details you include, but you don't say whether the subject is pleased with your work or not. ;)

Very clever and neat design. The rules explanation is clear and engaging. The task of tattooing two persons instead of just one adds a nice layer of complexity to the storytelling: the player can juggle the unfolding characters by intertwining elements from both.

I find a bit creepy the idea that you cover your parents with tattoes (maybe it's a cultural limit of mine ^__^), so I appreciated the optional rule about different customers.

In these kind of games based on prompts I often find it easier to have something given to me (e.g. "you draw a flaming heart") and then find a way to incorporate it in the story, rather than be given the objective of "you draw something about love". In your deck there are both methods (starting from an image and starting from a concept), which is a nice way of having different challenges for the player.

Hi! I found the idea of targeting a tattoo artist brilliant! The game well respects the theme proposed in the jam and the chosen scope is interesting. The rulebook seems easy to understand to me, I can also see very well some additions of specific cards with the mood of the game if you ever want to carry it forward! Unfortunately, I wasn't able to try it out so it's hard for me to find maybe specifically any hiccups in the experience. This game has really intrigued me. Congratulations!

Hello Stephen!

First of all, sorry for my poor english.
I am very pleased to meet you again at Mapemounde 2022, since you were the only non-Italian participating last year. I think it’s a great effort and personally I’m very glad you tried again to produce something for this jam.
Last year I didn’t have time to leave you a meaningful comment on the game and because of work I couldn’t write to you at all. Were you able to carry on with your ‘Cosmic Spores’?

Anyway, I really liked your game. You use the concept of “relationships” between the tattoo artist and the tattooed person very well. Maybe it’s not enough for the design goal (the making of a map), but I wouldn’t focus too much on that: you’ve produced a good game!

The only comment I would make on reading it is that the tracks (e.g. “artistry” and “connection”) are not explained immediately at the beginning of the rules and the player who read could be a bit confusing. Apart from that I would say that I really liked the idea and I also praise you for the hint tables to use with the playing cards. Well done!

Oh, please let me know if you have any doubts about understanding the game I submitted (Margareth). I can send you a translation that I think may be more readable than the Google Translate one.

Thank you for your game!

Ciao Stephen!
