the art is good
Never played pikmin and this actualy made me want to try it, very cute game ♥
Thanks for playing! It's a pretty enjoyable series.
I'm a simple man. I see Pikmin, I upvote. However, if someone never played Pikmin before, it might be a bit hard to understand what to do.
I liked your take on it. The game had the right length and the core elements of Pikmin were streamlined in a clever way to make it work in a shorter amount of time a player spends with a game jam game. Cool entry! I had a little bug where I was holding one of my plants, but I couldn't throw it - but that's more than acceptable for a game jam game.
Thanks for trying it out, lol. I'm glad you enjoyed it!
took me some time to realise what to do in the game. I suggest a little more work on animations.
Thanks for the feedback.
Arrow keys don't fully work correctly. Left and right are fine but when I went to use up and down it went up and down the web page not the game page. Was forced to try using wasd (I'm a weird left handed gamer that is use to using arrow keys and act like a total newb on wasd). The moon is a bit large and a bit in the way. Other then that, is cool idea and interesting.
Thanks for trying it out! I'm sorry you had to play like that. Have you tried clicking the Fullscreen button? I don't think it scrolls down the page when you press up or down.
Fun concept, I really like the pikmin like part of it.
Great game i got fun throwing the little guys
Loved the look of the game, the kinda rough pixel art was really interesting to see and I think it fit well!
The foreboding music in the back really made you weary of the time you had left, as did the very large moon on the screen haha. I feel you might wanna make that a bit smaller, maybe it was just my resolution though.
I liked the idea of collecting the minions and throwing them at things to fight, honestly a hilarious and interesting mechanic you don't see often!
I don't really have any criticism to give other than the potential issue with the moon being slightly too large. However, I did run into a bug!
How could this possibly happen in a game jam!
Not quite sure what I did but I somehow managed to get stuck with an lil friendo in my hand but couldn't throw him or interact with anything.
All in all though a great game!
Good job friend! :D
Thanks for trying it out! It's too bad that some bugs got through the final game, but I'll make sure to playtest more to get rid of them. :)
(If I have enough time of course, lol).
Great atmosphere! I've always wondered how 2D Pikmin would work, and this is an charming take!
I like it. Perfect game length for this jam, too. I'm going around trying lots of games and I like a few of them. Yours is well done, and I didn't encounter any bugs. I tried your game 2 times. Curious how my playthrough went?
First time I didn't read instructions short of moving around. I was able to get some little guys following me around and thought that was pretty cool. I couldn't figure out how to throw them at flowers at first, then I ran right into an enemy and died lol.
The second try I read instructions, found out I could throw the little guys and sought out to that flower again. Lo and behold, it worked! Only problem is, I thought the little guys were stuck after I threw them, so I moved on without them trying to find more. Couldn't find anymore, and also I noticed that I couldn't pick up the food without help from my minions! Thankfully, I had enough food stockpiled to stay alive and figure out that I could go back and click on the little guys to get them to follow me again. Alas! Now that I had them back, I Tried throwing them at bad guys to no avail. No worries, the time is running out so time to run around and find all that food I couldn't pick up earlier. I felt like despite my blunders learning the game, I was rewarded with a victory notification the second try.
Well done, you made a pretty fun game. Would be awesome if you would try our game. I learned a lot from playing yours, and hope to make Robbie and future games more fun. :)
Thanks for playing! I didn't expect anyone to comment this long, lol. I'll make sure to try out your game when I can. Good luck with the Jam!
Cool art. Has a distinct style.
Thanks
