  • I enjoyed this entry! It was simple, and easy to understand. I didn't find it to be the most fun entry, but it was still nice freeing those poor fishies from the trash. I didn't understand whether it was more important to free each creature on the levels or to go down as fast as possible. Great work! I think with some more development this could be a really addicting game!

Lack of feedback from when i got hurt resulted in me not even realising that the things in the game were hurting me. It also feels like the invincibility after getting hurt is too short, resulting in me sometimes taking 2 or more points of damage when i run into enemies. Finally, the inability to shoot upwards meant that sometimes i would be stuck in up and down hallways with an enemy directly above me, and I would have to wait for them to randomly path into a side corridor before I could actually hit them lol. All in all, very well made, and very straight forward gameplay.

Props for procedurally generated levels and the overall look/mood of the game. Could use some visual/audio feedback when receiving damage.

Pretty straightforward! Items are clear and easy to recognize.

Although, from the title and screenshot thumbnails, I thought it was a Sokoban about a maid who had to bring the trashes to the garbage location…

It’s easy to move the character and shoot, although you cannot aim up/down, I managed to destroy the plastic containers before they hit from from up/down anyway.

I was defeated immediately by one of them so I’m not sure if a health/recovery system was actually implemented.

Gameplay issues:

  • no incentive to release more fish instead of rushing to the end, but that’s expected for a game with a Score played outside the context of arcade ranking (maybe Score / release % could be displayed on end screen? but I also like jam games that don’t remind you you can do better and just congratulate you for ending the game, so maybe just showing an absolute Score is enough)

Technical issues found:

  • instructions look blurry, possibly due to half pixel offset messing up with the pixel perfect font (it could also be font size not multiple of native size)
  • on end screen, Shoot just spams some SFX and does nothing else after a certain time has passed, then you can restart game (to prevent player skipping the last message by accident maybe?)

This is a cute theme! Good use of music and procedural generation. This demonstrates a solid gameplay loop that's easy to get into. I'm bummed that the in-game instructions neglected to mention that trash causes damage.

Nice entry! Good and clear art, fitting music and sounds, engaging gameplay  :)
Beside sometimes hard entering rooms and being blocked by fish, the only thing that was bit misleading for me, was info about 'restoring health', when each time i was slightly touched by 'trash' i got game over screen 🤔

Cool game, simple and fun!

Really cute game!  I like the procedural levels, the music felt appropriate.  It wasn't immediately clear what the objective was, but i did figure it out after a few playthroughs.  Sometimes I had difficulty passing through the weeds into a room, there wasn't much margin collision wise to lead into the spaces, you have to be dead on perfect alignment.  Also, maybe consider shooting up and down as well, it seems you can only shoot side to side....

All in all, great submission, games are looking really good!

I really love this because I was avoiding things at first, worried that they were enemies, but very surprised and happy that it's not about that! I had fun!

Short and sweet! The only thing I could've wished more would be some kind of story-telling throughout the story, maybe whenever you finish a level it tells you something. (:
