I was very glad I read this in the morning and not late at night! Well executed, congratulations! When you do prepare a final version, perhaps a content advisory?
I’ll take that advice, thank you
Clear, simple and elegant graphic design. I also like how the contrasting factions are clearly portrayed.
And the countdown mechanic that advances as time passes or the players take certain actions is great. It creates a sense of urgency as the spread of the plague accelerates.
Nice and grimdark feeling! I also like the layout. The countdown timer mechanic is simple, but should be really useful for moving the adventure along and helping to convey the sense of creeping dread.
This would be great for a game of Mork Borg as well. I really like how the countdown mechanic also lets the GM know what certain NPCs are up to in that hour. That's a sweet detail. I enjoyed reading this!
The neat layout and use of symbols (espescially the dice) makes this a breeze to run! The countdown mechanics and twists in the rooms are thoughtful and inspiring and already pinched my inspiration!
I dig grim adventures placed at critical times for a group...this feels great for a campaign arc.
It's gritty and dark in an evocative and well-written way. And I think after all these comments, we can say that the time mechanic is great, right? For me, it could easily be expanded into a more structural model for a setting or even a system.
I’m definitely going to be using this mechanic in more of my modules where a clock makes sense, I hope others do as well! It was a total lightbulb moment. Using a die icon takes up so much less space than “if the countdown clock is at 4…,” and you run out of pages quick when making smaller zines
very evocative setting, great layout that is very clear. Very nice maps and descriptions and characters, all of it.
Maybe I missed it but I couldn’t see a reason why a party of adventurers would want to be in such a horrible and plague-ridden place, even if they are invited for dinner. I think the DM will have to give some good motivational hooks for the players.
This is a really high quality adventure and I’d like to run it myself.
Hmm I would use this when the players were on their last legs, maybe fleeing from someplace else. You see smoke rising from a town on the horizon, at last, shelter!
I hope to revisit this module for a print run, adding art. I’ll be sure to add some guidance for the DM with suggestions for hooks to get it to the table
Cool countdown mechanic, and a very morbid story. Great layout!
Very nice layout. It's clear. I like the time mechanic.
The timer mechanic mechanic looks fun. I like how easy it is to see what's going on in a spot at any given point. I can already see running very different for menu groups.
