Great atmosphere to this one, very nice looking with a great B Movie style. Would love to see this developed more. Very well put together, feels very solid and classy.

Thanks Tubby!  Praise from the great brothers is humbling and very encouraging indeed.  As I've said elsewhere in the thread, now that time's not limited, I may work on improvements, in particular getting in some proper gameplay.  Awesome meeting you guys through this jam!

Such a cool idea - loved this the moment it loaded up :D Great work!

Thanks Jern!  Appreciate the kind words, buddy.  I might keep working on it, and get some fun gameplay into it too.   Thank you for running this Jam!  Really glad I took part, I learned a lot, made something new, and my gamedev energy was reinvigorated!

Solid effects and overall feeling - feels like I’m in a 50-ties movie. Tried hard to get stolen by the aliens, found that the BRUK invasion failed cause of a critical bug in production. The aliens forgot to properly raycast from the BRUK controller and you can actually make the BRUK fly up high just by standing under him. I think saved the planet. =D image.png

Hahaha thanks Omony.  Yeah I put 90% of time and effort into getting that B-Movie vibe, and the remainder into trying to get a little bit of gameplay into it before the deadline.  Time management issues!  Haha.

Very fun and looks and sounds great. Got stuck a few times but pretty solid overall. Great job!

Thanks Occular Malice!  Yeah I need to work on the Kaiju's pathfinding a bit!

Dude, this is real good. Captured the atmospheric of a b-movie really (really) well, utter chaos everywhere, random ufos going nuts, giant monster destroying the city.. yeah was great work. Loved the random game title in the mountains lol. I _really_ liked the perspective of being a tiny little dude fighting against a giant monster, felt the pressure. Solid work man, really well executed - good work, well done!

Developer

Awww thanks Kilted, so glad you had fun buddy.  And thanks for the detailed post - so valuable to see the things you enjoyed.  Thanks a lot buddy.  I need to go back and give The Blob a better playthrough now that I'm back from the beach!

Fun game, I love shooting arrows, and beating up on the poor Kaiju (i'm sure he's just misunderstood is all) Played very well and had great sound.

This was very enjoyable, I understand there was not enough time to make a game loop but the idea and theme were most certianly stuck to. The movement was very fluid and I enjoyed the setting (huge Kaiju fan) This has some great potential and hope you continue with this. Great work in such a short time!

Developer

Thanks buddy, kind words there!

I'm not quite sure if I just "didn't get it" but he never chased me or cared if he was on fire, so I just spent 10 minutes playing with his physics by making him stand on top of buildings. The game never ended or gave me the impression it was going to.

Having said that, the sound design was phenomenal, I loved the slightly foggy aesthetic, and I feel like something like that has a lot of potential with more than 2 weeks of dev time

Thanks for playing, Falinere, and thanks for your words and thanks for taking the time to comment!   Really nice to hear you appreciated the work I put into the sound.  Yeah, the AI and gameplay were somewhat left until later, but I'm really glad I got finished what I did.  I might keep working on it .. not sure yet :)

I'm not here to be a bad influence, but I would definitely be interested in playing an expanded version of this game for sure!

Developer(+1)

Haha you're not a bad influece at all.  That's the kind of feedback we all need and like to hear!  A couple of you have said it, so I will do eet!

Coming soon to an itch near you

Big red was often caught on stuff and was fairly easy to deal with. I got to 25k points.

Developer

Hi Robots.  Thanks for playing my game!  Yeah sometimes he gets more stuck than others! :D  Definitely something I would work on if I had more time.  I kinda got him chasing you if you light him up, but he doesn't damage you.  And of course there's no really payoff if you get a lot of points, other than the fun of firing flaming arrows over a distance and lighting him up :)

This game is beautiful, it captures the panic of a city attacked ^_^.  Big Red got stuck on some buildings sometimes, this is alot of fun xD

Thanks Skepays! Thanks for saying it captures the panic of a city attacked - that and the general atmosphere were things I really focused on.  <3
