This was a sick game man, all your games are super well executed. The building UI was a bit clunky until i got the hang of it, but what you compromised on the interface was made up by the flying part! This was super fun to play and replay. Nice job.

Developer(+1)

thanks brother, I definitely learned a lot doing it, and I think unfortunately some of the clunkiness comes from some deeper architectural choices I made / didn’t make as I hastily threw it together, like, for sure I think everyone would have appreciated ctrl+z functionality if not for every move, atleast for parts, but there was a little too much noodles in the code by the time I realized I really should have prioritized that haha.

Really cool idea! I liked that the game was very replayable, and found it fun to just stack a bunch of speed to speedrun levels, especially the first level. I really liked that you could customize, and found that to be really cool as well. The only problem I had was with the sound, specifically the lasers and crash sound effects haha, but other than that, the game is pretty fun!

Developer(+1)

Glad to hear it! Sorry if i hurt your ears, I usually have my speakers set under 20% volume and it just slipped my mind to add volume sliders for general sound till it was too late.

I like it! I feel it's very ambitious and that has led to it not being as good as it could be. I feel like if this had one or two really good levels it would be a top contender for me. The laser could do with a little bit of pitch modulation and decay at the end to prevent clipping. I like the ship building it's cool but I also found it quite hard to remove parts I put in by accident (if I had put in 2 parts I wanted to remove). But overall nice submission

Developer

Totally fair assessment, this one was a learning experience for sure. Thanks for playing!

Cool game! Loved the driving mechanics and your level choices were varied and fun.

I had some issues with the builder. Nothing changed after I pressed the first button, it never showed any other engines or pieces it just stayed on the first hull; I was spending the money though and the performance of the ship seemed to change in the actual time trial levels.

Developer

hmm peculiar, when you spawn a piece it should be automatically selected, did you switch to move and try to pull them out?

Submitted

it happened specifically when I tried moving the initial hull first.

I got a glitch where the mirror function didnt work. Well it may have worked but you cant see the thing I mirrored. otherwise great game but the movement was very unwieldy.

Developer

hmmm weird. Always interesting what can happen on other peoples devices.

Decent spaceship builder

Developer

thanks :)

this is fun but the ui reminds me of one of those complicated math apps

Developer

Math is sweet, I’ll take it as a compliment!

Submitted(+1)

ok i mean the ui is good for this game but if it was like my game that would be a different story:D

yeah, NGL the menu interface was intimidating like a graphing calculator and even though the game loop isn't complicated I felt like it was gonna ask me to build a ship oh wait It did do that lmao uh anyway I like this Type of game generally speaking so good instincts on the premise, the menu just makes me not want to engage

I liked the game ❤

It would be cool if you could add spaceship coloring to the edit section.

One thing is, there’s no point to build a big spaceship with wings and hulls and all that when the goal is to dodge obstacles for example, I would just buy engines on top of each other and go 🚀 weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Although once I tried buying only hulls and engines to get more health and speed, and I set each hull’s and engines scale to 0, so when I entered the game my spaceship didn’t show at all and I had to reload the browser.

Developer(+1)

thanks! Yeah, I wanted to add some paint too, but just couldn’t get to it. 100% the most effective way to win is stacking and scaling parts super small. Short of limiting creative freedom by making some kinda grid system so nothing can intersect, I don’t think I could design around that. Originally the levels were gonna be a lot larger, and with other racers, which would have made it less punishing to have a bigger cool looking ship, but I realized I wouldn’t have enough time to code good ship AI and make that interesting, larger levels were very boring to fly through alone, so I made them small and twisty first, and then had the idea of moving obstacles for additional interest, those were more fun, but also incongruent with cool ships.

There was supposed to be a clamp on scale so that you couldn’t get to 0 or a negative number, since that’ll break physics in unity, but, it seems to have broken somewhere along the way lol.

Submitted(+1)

No, it worked but I don’t remember if it was for the engine or the hull!!
I remember if you set the scale to 0, it would automatically go to 0.1, but for one of them it didn’t I’m not sure which

Man, the online version of this game is gonna hit different 🚀

Really cool concept, some of the audio was a little loud, pasta
