- This is a solid entry that could very easily be turned into a full game release with a bit of investment! The biggest issue currently is the speed of the game, it's *very* slow. Snappier animations would be a huge plus - take *more* inspiration from slay the spire, animations are usually less than a second! For a jam game made in 2 weeks, this is so well balanced. I play a ton of slay the spire, and though I managed to get to the boss on the first runthrough - I only had 3hp left, and really needed to concentrate on what cards I was using. The ammo system and single shot per hand is really interesting, great job 😁
How does your game relate to the theme?
Player gets only 1 shot to reach the top and Player can only use 1 shot per turn.

I agree with others that the pacing could be a bit quicker. I managed to kill the 4 star enemy next to the first sombrero wearing skull on the map, but it took a long time because of their little healing dance and shields.
I like how you run out of ammo but I think reloading shouldn’t be tied to a card. Just let the player reload but it costs them a turn of inactivity. If you let the player use all their cards on a single turn, then the decision of when to reload would be important as you might find yourself unable to use your more powerful cards due to a lack of ammo.
This would make the game more offense focused and faster paced as the player could unload on the enemy. You might need to create a more in depth deck building system for this to balance the combat though.
This was a cool idea and definitely one of the most unique entries
The game is realy polish, i like the animation, but i find game is slow. but overall well done
I think once you polish up the animations and optimize the deck building part, the game will become amazing.
Having different kinds of events (like a shop) in between the challenges could make it more interesting.

The pacing is definitely on the slower side but it shall be improved none the less. I did make the game so the choices should be simple enough for everyone to play. Gald you enjoyed it though. Yo Incredibro! I think I've seen your name for the first hyplay game jam as well, great to see you here for the second jam as well :D
The intro music gives a bit of Last Of Us vibes which is amazing, A very unique and different take on the theme. Progression / Game-Pace does feel a little slow after a while but quite fun to strategize throughout, I got 6th place on the leaderboard on my first gameplay and I'm usually not good at games from start so that shows that the game is quite balanced.
Saw the game on discord and its really nice to be able to play it :) Congrats on the submission man!

I tried my best to balance the game in the given time frame, but only so much can be done in so little time. But i got some great ideas for this game and will definitely add a bunch of events and stuff. Yes, the game is definitely on a slower side but its a lesson learned. And will be improved in the next updates. :)

Fascinating take on a shooter. Decent visuals and audio. It played a bit slower than I like. I think things paced much faster and the ability to be more tactical with your time would be more motivating for longer play times.

I really like the genre, and you made it well! The overall ambience is excellent (sounds, music, 2D/3D visual, etc ).
I could get stuck in the middle of a run by starting a turn with no ammo and no card to reload :( Sometimes the first enemy can be quite hard to kill, it might have been nice to make the first encounter very easy to start the game smoothly. I really appreciate the number of different cards and the strategy in the game. I was quite confused by the shield which the icon does not consistently show on the health bar, I'm not sure if it is intended or not.

Now I have tested most of the games in the jam, I can say that yours is definitely one of my favorite!
If I'm not wrong, in order to skip a turn, I have to select a card, unselect it, then click shoot. If I try to click shoot directly at the beginning of turn, it does nothing.
I think it should work either way.
It was cool to see a turn based game with the one shot concept.
I liked that you worked in some RNG with the cards to determine how your turn would play out. I had a couple turns where I burned all my ammo but didn't get a reload. Guess I gotta play a little more conservatively rather than just maxing out damage.
I enjoyed the theme for it and the execution.

I could not start the game with and without login. In the console I get null reference. Maybe fix this. the game looks really cool

Hello, thank you so much for bringing that to my notice! it is fixed now. also try to login and play. If the issue still persists, refresh the game and try again.. Regardless, it should work for guest login as well now.
