Simple but fun detective game!

The stethoscope is very OP. Managed to do over 10 guesses in a row just using it.

I enjoyed the dialogues between the talents that show at the intro and during the investigation.

Some improvement suggestions:

- Add sounds to each of the tools and UI interactions.

- This is a bit of a stretch but it would be cool to have the dialogue sections happen in a visual novel format, with proper talent illustrations showing their emotions as the scene plays out and fitting music in the background.

- A ranking system based on how many tools and guesses you used. Higher score for using less tools/guesses.

Good game!

I like the premise of this guessing games. Although, the stethoscope make the guess abit too easy and I can't figured how to use the seismograph, the other tools however, are quite fun element for hints! I agreed with the others that this game could use some sounds to enhance the ambience.

That said, Good job!

I love the idea behind the game. I also liked how you designed your gameplay, having to use different tools (possibly as little as you can) to guess the parents. The fact someone had to lay an egg to make it happen is hilarious and absurd to me. The comments of the characters at the beginning add to the humour of the game as well.

The game did not really fit the theme of the jam, but its supposed to help people without an idea anyways (at least to my knowledge), and you clearly had an idea (and a funny one at that)! It's a bit quiet, but it's hard to compose a video game OST in two weeks (experienced it firsthand, since I composed the music for our entry). Maybe some clicking SFX could be used instead to make it more interactive.

The lack of a background surprisingly doesn't feel like a bother, probably because there's so many tools on the screen already. About the tools, some of them felt a bit repetitive, maybe the mechanics of this game could be more limited, but the hints could be more direct (without making it too obvious). Of course I realize how difficult that is, especially in two weeks, so mainly I'm just nitpicking.

Great entry! The funniest premise I've seen so far on this jam.

A really cool detective game idea. It would have been better if there was some audio to create some ambience.

Cute game with a fun premise!

I will say some of the colors and traits seem a little off - I had an egg that was purple and pink, and the parents were Mococo and Bae, there was a mutation, so maybe that's what caused it? Same with tentacles on a combo that didn't involve Ina. Thinking about it now, that makes sense, but if mutations could have effects like that, I think it would be good to explain that possibility to the player. Also I feel like sometimes the stethoscope just straight you gives you the answer, so maybe it should be worth more than 2 guesses, maybe only usable after a certain amount of guesses, or even do something like, grabbing a catch phrase from another member to throw into the mix, so it's not always just a dead giveaway, it would require you to think about the other information you know to filter one of the results out or something

Otherwise I like the banter when it happened (I think it occurred at guess intervals? I wasn't paying a lot of attention, but I think I had dialogue pop up at 5 guesses multiple times), the conversations really felt like they'd happen between the members, very natural.

I normally encourage submitters to return to their games after the judging period, but to be frank I'm not too sure how to expand on this idea meaningfully - maybe some special events when you save a certain amount of eggs, or vice versa, but nothing really solid. Hopefully you can come up with some fun ideas and implement them at some point. Thanks for submitting!

Thanks for trying the game. Yes the mutation means one of the other traits has been randomly changed, and color has a high likelihood of being the mutated trait. Additionally, Bae has a 50% chance of being a random color or 50% red (something something chaos). I have an update already done that I finished  day after grace period that shows a collection of all the eggs you have saved, and also shows what each characters traits are, but I have to wait till after review window to release it.

I agree the stethoscope is OP, and only a mutation on the catchphrase can make it confusing sometimes. I do like the idea of only allowing it after some amount of wrong guesses.

And yes, after you use half of your tool uses/guesses, there is a voice line that happens. If you want more silly dialogue, there is a unique one for every character if you lose with them guessed correctly as well, though they are short.
