Seems simple but is quite difficult and also fun 🙂
Gameplay
Puzzling and good timing are the key. It was difficult and I often died, but then it was all the more fun when you passed a level. Controls are not super smooth but that is also part of the gameplay I think. The gravity and orbits are a nice concept to make sure you boost and swing in the right direction.
Graphics
Simple but also a good whole. It all fits together well. Some cool effects and camera worked well.
Audio
8-bit like nice simple soundtrack with nice SFX. Solid!
Theme
Outer space and black holes etc. Check🙂
Devlog
Good devlog with code examples and explanations!
Overall a fun game to try and play. Keep it up 💪!
Thanks for your comment !
Fun and simple game! It's nice to explain how you did things in your devlog. I'm sure it will help on someones game. Also you can only see a small part of level. Ability to zoom in-out would be really helpful.
Thanks. It is part of the leveldesign that you can't see the whole level. In some levels the camera is very zoomed-in and in others it's zoomed-out. That's why the camera shows the target in the beginning of the level.
Different colours for the sucky planets would be good
Rated your game, hope you would rate my game too…
this is pretty amazing!
Gameplay: It was a pretty fun game to play once I got a hang on the controls. I do wish the camera was a little more zoomed out though.
Art: Very well put together. I loved the use of particles.
Audio: It was a little bit quiet (at full volume), but nothing bad about it.
Theme: Seemed like it fit
Devlog: Good devlog!
If you mind checking out my game, that would be much appreciated.
Thanks for your comment. The camera is more or less zoomed in the different levels. It is part of the level design.
I have already rated your game and I really liked it !
Gameplay: It's a little bit tough to control the player and motion blur is not for me, but I like the overall concept
Art: Cute art
Audio: Little bit repetitive, but it's fine
Theme: Fits the theme
Devlog: Nice mechanic explanation in devlog
Nice work, hope you would rate my game too …
Really nicely polished, kinda reminds me of Super Mario Galaxy!
I love how you make both the setting and the gameplay revolve around the theme..
the gameplay was good and the control was easy
and also like the soundtrack, which was calming and well suited to the game.
I don't find your devlog...if you write it, send it to me here.
Thanks. Here is my devlog https://broguld.itch.io/planet-rider/devlog/360335/planet-rider-gravity-implemen...
Graphics are outstanding good. And the audio blends well into your game.
I've missed an indicator giving me a hint in which direction the target is located. And I found it confusing that I am loosing enery while drifting in space without using using the booster. In almost all space-adventure movies there is this moment, where the hero runs out of fuel - and gets saved thanks to the innertia carrying him on ;-)
Anyway - overall your game leaves a good impression!
Thanks for your comment. The boost goes in the direction the player is currently moving and the devlog is published now.
