Game Description
Climb a haunted tower where ghosts ask you trivia. 13 floors of unadulterated spoopiness. But be warned, if you get your question wrong, the ghosts will teleport you out side of the tower.
How does your game tie into the theme?
You are ascending a haunted tower and must reclimb it if you fail a trivia question.

Interesting take on the theme and the first trivia game I have seen during a jam.
Thanks for submitting
Thank you! I think there was one other. I'm not sure I recommend doing a trivia game, but it was a cool new experience.
unique concept, i enjoyed myself. didn't get very far, only floor 5 or 6 but still a charming little entry. i also really enjoyed the pixel art. well done!
Thank you! I did use some assets for the tower walls, the skulls, chest, and door. and the ladder from this Tile Set by David G. So credit where credit is due for those parts. I did the characters, signs, and backgrounds.
omg haha. We pretty much made the same game :D
Oh hell yeah! I'm getting in there and playing it soon! Thanks for playing :)
never got that far. having to redo every question after dying made this one a lot more tedious than it probably needed to be. also, an indicator for which floor the player is in would help. i think the game looks decent, and the questions were actually rather interesting. i learned a thing or two. if i were you, though, i would avoid reusing the exact same room texture and layout every time. maintaining player interest is a big deal when it comes to these kinds of not-so-gameplay heavy games, and having to look at the same tower floor every time doesn't sell the illusion of climbing anything, at least not for me.
still, though, good job! definitely a solid trivia game. consider trying my game as well!
Thanks for playing! Hard agree on the repetitiveness and speed of the game; time ran out and I had to accept the game state for what it was!
If I had a re-do button on how I set things up, I would at bare minimum make the rooms smaller, place the ladders closer to the ghosts, and speed up the room transitions. You're right that it is punishingly slow re-climbing the tower. I think I could at least make those changes in 30-45 minutes.
Defs trying your game too :) Thank you for the feedback and glad you learned a thing or two!
Nice music
Thank you :)
Hey, cool game, I liked the trivia questions, some are very creative, but I think it would have been great to have a few more mechanics interacting with the tower itself
Thank you! I agree! It's on theme, but it could be a bit better tied in mechanically. I originally wanted there to be decorations on each floor that you could interact with; including bonuses or secrets to help or hinder you. Also, initially, the ghosts were supposed to kick you out the window of the tower, but I realized teleportation filled a wildcard and required less animation/SFX.
Lmk if you'd be interested in a more fleshed out version :)
Very original. I like the concept although I didn't quite get far up the tower. It might be because I'm a bit impatient (the highest I managed was 7 floors, I think) but having a checkpoint at the halfway mark might be nice.
Thank you! I was worried it wasn’t original enough, so that’s good to hear!
I did consider setting checkpoints, but was just so uncertain on the difficulty of the trivia questions (I was worried it would… trivialize it… ) but I think it would have been nice for the flow of the game in hindsight. Thank you for the feedback :)
Just made it to the top, i'd be lying if I said I didn't have to google the answers. Fits the theme very well, I guess I need to go back to school and learn some trivia!
Haha, some of the trivia questions are either stupid or very difficult. There is an invisible difficulty ramp up too (so the ending questions should be pretty dang rough imo. Making this really made me appreciate how hard it is to write good trivia questions.
Thank you for playing :)
