Fun idea for a game. I liked the tutorial a lot.

I quite like the game's visual style and the game's story but unfortunately I found the game to be a bit too hard. I gave the second level about a good amount of tries but I found dying in one hit to be frustrating. I greatly appreciate that you added a button to skip the end briefing as it makes having to restart much less frustrating and made me want to keep trying for longer.
Thank you, I appreciate that you spent time for playing my demo and providing me your feedback.
Well the difficulty level is quite a thing. To be fair, the first design of the boss includes more than 2 phases (with energy shield and missiles). Ultimately I'm delighted to have reduced its difficulty. Regarding a complete game, your feedback demonstrates that options to control the difficulty are a big plus for more players. This gamejam and your valuable feedback highlight to me this important aspect of game creation.
Thank you so much!
I am sorry that you could not finish the game. I did not expect the game to be perceived as too difficult. But i am obviously totally biased. To reassure you, even though i created the demo, I am not succeeding each run.
Lastly, for sure, it is impossible to balance the game for every player. So this highlights the importance of providing access to difficulty setting options.
took me a bit to understand how to get going but figured it out, interesting game and graphics.
The art style in your game is really appealing! .
I absolutely loved the concept of collecting the colored orbs in the tutorial.
However, I found it a bit frustrating that restarting after dying took quite some time. Especially on the first level after the tutorial where you die in one hit. I was really eager to progress to level 2, but I struggled to master the skills required.
Keep up the good work !
Thank you so much.
Well, i have to admit that regarding the feedbacks, i miss the difficulty balance. I was the only one trying my demo. So it is a bit complicated to know if it is too difficult.
Hope you will try a bit more and you will succeed. Tips: there is no time to finish the level so no pressure. Fly safe and goes for easy kills :)
I like the art style of this game, I wish I could restart after dying more quickly, it took me a while to get a hang of things on the first level after the tutorial since you die in one hit. I really wanted to make it to level 2 but was not skilled enough. I liked the idea of collecting the colored orbs in the tutorial so I wish I could have seen it in action!
Thank you very much for your kind comments.
In fact the second level is all about collecting orbs. Your weapons are useless. And you have to collect 3 orbs to unleash an energy wave killing the aliens.
I am a bit frustrated and sorry that you didn't succeed on the first level. It is not designed to be painful to achieve. So my bad.
Thank you again for the ip about [ESC], with that I was able to finish the demo! The trick I found for level 1 was that I could shoot the ships from the back, that made it so I was always able to make it to the boss.
I do wish levels were swapped/there was more content around collecting different colored energy balls, I found that to be a lot more approachable and fit the theme really well! Glad I was able to check the whole game out though!
You are welcome. I am happy that you succeeded! Congrats.
I created this first level to explain the appearance of the energy balls. The fight is the root cause. I wanted to develop a basic scenario. This phase took me a lot of time.
Due to the duration of the gamejam, I was not able to create more content. I finished the current second level 40 minutes before the deadline. Unfortunatly, I did not have the time to implement more ideas regarding the overload mechanics.
Well, I don't know if trying to create a game with a storyline with a context a bit detailed is better for a game jam than a raw level with lot of gameplay mechanics.
They said we would clean the space... IN FACT THEY JOINED US TO NAVY >_>
Ok, thank you for the reply. May be, it is because you did not reach the level 2. You have to collect energy balls to avoid a cataclysmic storm. Your conventionnal weaponry does not work for this stage. Collecting 3 EB and you launch an energy wave. This is the only way to damage the aliens. It is a bit explained during the tutorial. The fight during the level 1 is the root cause of the appearance of such entities. I decided to add a basic scenario to introduce this game mechanics. May be, this is too much. Actually, i guess that no one takes the time to read.
Give it a second try to discover all the pôssibilities. But are you going to beat the boss to reach the stage 2? :)
