Good game, not my thing. I managed to escape on the first try. Crying sounds are a bit triggering for me so I didn't enjoy the experience. Game looks and sounds pretty nice.

Really nice experience, I like the visual simplicity and the audio is very well done! You can feel the tension is here but without the need to use scare jumps.

I really enjoyed this! I liked the crying ghost and the little sign posts to give hints. Took me a few tries to get through! That ghost was really on my tail the entire time. Good job!
Yeah, I added the sign since after playing the first time, it would be unfun if only way to escape would be just randomly moving around the maze with no rhythm or reason.
Simple, and nice game. The way the atmosphere of the game give that intended immersion, especially when the first time I saw the ghost. However, the spike felt a bit unfair, because I was getting damaged by them because of the ghost behind me. It might be better to include normal tile between them. Overall, great job, I had fun trying to escape.
Simple but nice game. Good use of light and occlusion. The shader on the image is a nice detail.
First time using a shaders actually. I didn't want to have gui for muh immerssion. It was a toss up between saturation vs light energy. lowering light energy would punish the player on top of taking damage so I took the former.
I made it out once, wishing I could interact with things (kept hitting F & E). Then I read that interact is the space key, so I played it again, but I couldn't interact with the crying ghost before getting eaten. Maybe the interact area2d is too small, or the chasing ghost is a bit too fast.
the crying ghost ain't interactable. I guess I should have made the it more clear. I'll keep in mind next time. It's just simply a landmark. Maybe next game I should try custom input mapping from the player. Should be a fun challenge. Anyways, thanks for playing <3

Don't know. The crying ghost was just there originally just there as a landmark. Even the added crying sound as a auditory sign. Surprised it actually spooked people.

I love the crying Ghost, he reminded me some hollowknight sounds!
But in fact the ghost following you is a bit too fast and need have an annoying sounds.
Probably you can use navigation2D for better ghost navigation on the map or taking shortcut in the wall was an intended mecanism?
Was thinking about using it but, then realized didn't want to do it in the end. It also reinforced the idea it was a ghost as well.

I think if you had input totorial in game it will help since I was left confused for a moment about whats going on, can i shoot or i only run away
But other than that, good work, the atmospehre is amazing

Man this game is really scary!! which is a good thing. Creeped me out when I started hearing the crying thing.
Didn't get the controls ingame, So I just press what I would expect from a top-down game.
Was expecting some indicator of controls atleast on playing.

Your right. I thought I should just put the controls on the description. for ease Then I went to play other peoples game and also skipped the reading the description. I should have known better.
The ghost had an annoying sound effect that I feel like never stops, that's maybe the only real con that I can think of, now the pros, the lightning was very cool, the wildcard is respected, and that woman crying in the distance genuinely made me scared cuz I didn't think a game jam dev would give this much importance to details like this, also the ghost feel very oppressing, this feeling of never-ending stress, overhaul 7/10
