Lovely concept! Love the animation, when the little guy goes sleeping.

Had the same issues as described below, that sometimes the S (Sleep) wouldn't trigger, until I pressed it again. Also noticed the hat begin a red circle instead of a full color ... couldn't figure out what it meant, but I think I couldn't sleep there.

All in all a very nice submission! Great game!

Super interesting mechanic.  Also a very unique idea to give moon facts while playing the game! Great job!

Excellent puzzle mechanic! Really enjoyed this. I would have preferred S to be the sleep key as my fingers got a little tired of pushing both A and D down so much. Still, I never gave up, and this game didn't let me down. Nice work!

Developer

Thank you for playing :D I am very glad you enjoyed it!

You can disable pushing A and D to sleep in the settings if you don’t like it :)

This was cool. The moon facts were great.

I had some trouble with the controls, partially because it was a little hard to tell what I was doing wrong (e.g. if I was in an invalid place) or if something just didn’t trigger. Often trying multiple times would get it to work. I think the main case that bugged me was if I was on a platform that lowered as I slept, it would result in dropping a bit, waking up, and having to sleep again, repeatedly.

Overall though, this was pretty cool. Nice work!

Yeah I was also a bit annoyed at the falling-and-waking-up thingy. In retrospect though, I think I should’ve detected if the player can sleep using whether the distances of the two feet rays are different, instead of using the pure average of both of them. Thank you very much for the feedback :)))

Great tunes and original mechanic. The simple graphic style also works well.

The random moon facts were a great way to make the game more interesting.

But after getting the hang of the mechanic and embracing the moon facts... the game started feeling a bit empty. Eventually (after a solid 10 minutes of exploring) I got lost and gave up. I'd suggest dividing the level in to sections or adding some arrows to point the player in the right direction.

Thank you for playing :D

I’ll definitely add some kind of map or something to help navigate the place.

Thanks for the feedback :))

I enjoyed the moon related trivia. :)

Glad you had re-mappable controls, that was the first thing I did (chose to use arrows and space) so I hope this isn't what caused my issue. I wasn't always able to sleep, and I couldn't see the pattern as to why -- this was quite frustrating because I was ready to progress through the areas pretty quickly.

Unique idea, and other than my problem above the game plays well and is pretty polished. Nice work on your first GWJ!

I’m so sorry the tutorial with the crab guy wasn’t clear enough. I meant it to show that you can’t sleep on ledges and in tight spaces.

Oh right I understand now, the crab guy thing went right over my head!
