This was great. I loved the environment and retro look. The ending was what really got me, though.

Great job!

Cute walking sim! The unfiltered textures give it a neat retro vibe. I'll argue that given the plot twist, this is game is just about the perfect length. Great job!

Very enjoyable experience! I really like the retro 3d look, especially the hut area. There was a lot of work in the environment which I appreciate. For instance the middle area, there was nothing else to do there other than pass through it (I think). I suppose with a little more content / side quests it would have been even better. :) Congrats on a great first GWJ entry.

I couldn't play on linux :(

I tried to run it on the terminal to check for errors and this came up.

I'd suggest you embed the PCK file to avoid these type of error.

Ah, sorry about that. Don't have access to a linux (or MacOS) machine so I couldn't test either before uploading. Unfortunately I probably won't be able to do anything about it this game but I'll keep this in mind for any future Linux exports.

Edit: Obviously if you do have access to a Vulcan capable Windows machine I would encourage you to try it on that, since so far that seems to be the only version working properly.

For what it’s worth, I was able to get this working on Linux without any problems. I’m using Pop!_OS (Ubuntu-based) with proprietary Nvidia drivers, so it seems like a pretty different hardware set up. Could potentially related to using the Godot 4 alpha as well.

Just throwing it out there in case it’s helpful for anyone.

OH. MY GOSH. this. game. I. fucking. love it.

  1. Witch. yes. (always wanted to be a witch)
  2. The atmosphere just mmm chef’s kiss and just the textures of the environment in general.
  3. very delicious sound effects.
  4. I honestly didn’t expect that ending and it’s very wholesome and touching.
  5. Edit: also, wait wait wait you used GODOT 4?!?!

Hey, so glad you liked it. I switched to using 4 as soon as the first Alpha came out. It is a little buggy and crashy at times, also I lost a bunch of work on a bigger project after updating to a newer version, but for smaller projects I'm really liking it so far and definitely looking forward to more stable versions.
