Game Description
The Horrors on the other side are trying to open a Gate. If they do, it's the end. You must finish an occult ritual to close the portal before they can cross over, but time is limited - perhaps an offering of flesh may distract them for long enough...

How does your game tie into the theme?
Ancient horrors, based on Lovecraftian stories. You have to use ancient sigils and rituals to banish the horror away.

I lost without being able to do anything. Some of the items I had picked up ended up in the dark and I couldn't find them. But it looks promising, the atmosphere is heavy, especially seeing the portal opening more and more.

It reminds me a bit of the end of We Were Here, where you have to complete a play before you get caught by an imp. I still get chills just thinking about it.

Thanks for playing!

Very creepy! I liked the weird sort of fish-eye lens type thing going on at the edge of the screen, makes it even more unsettling. I did find picking up objects a little frustrating. It's easy to bump into candles and things I want and send them scattering about.

Developer(+1)

Thank you! Yes, the objects do tend to scatter about... Paranormal infuence from the Old Ones or buggy physics? Who knows

Very confusing - I might have to come back and try again later when I'm less tired!

Developer(+1)

Sorry to hear that - I hope you'll give it another try!

Great game! I love the atmosphere and sound design. And you integrated the Wildcards very well. Seeing the sacrifice I feel like you guys enjoyed Inscryption as much as me :D

Developer

Thanks! Indeed, we took a page or two from Inscryption...

Ah the sacrifice made me giggle. Great job, I really appreciated the audio and mood. There are a few bugs (clipping, rolling candles?) but it does not remove from the game.

Developer

Glad you liked it!

A neat experience! I had a bit of trouble getting used to the controls, but I enjoyed the sense of panic and immersiveness of the game.
