Please bundle the .pck file with the Linux upload, too. I like the pathfinding. It'd be nice to have something to do in the game, rather than just walking around.

I think it fit the theme of discovery pretty well.  I think it would have been nice to have a little more reward for finding things, like being able to name landmarks you discover or something like that.  Theme -- 4/5

I enjoyed the game, but it felt like there was too little feedback for player actions.  I couldn't really tell the difference between a "!" and a "╬" popup when I got to a new place.  Fun -- 3/5

The point-and-click controls felt good, no complaints there.  5/5

The graphics are really nicely done!  5/5

There was no audio... 1/5

I can't say it was super original, but the idea of searching a kingdom for new sights is a neat idea.  2/5

I think this would be a neat game if it were expanded on, adding more discovery-like functionality like I mentioned before and expanding the map.  Very nice work for a first time entry though!

I did not rate it yet as I couldn't try it...
I would love to try it, please fix it :) :)

Developer

I am sorry, this is my first time doing this. How do I add this file?

Just upload it, or export the windows exe again and in the settings, check the option to include the package

you have to upload bot the .pck and the .exe  for the windows, download some compression tool and select both files, then zip them together (you can use winrar for that) and upload the zip

It's a bit rough around the edges, but I like the concept. I can't say for certain what's wrong, but it seems like the popups for the notifications about what's a sight might be blocking clicks for the sights themselves, so if you're hovering a sight, you can't also click it, or at least I was unable to do so. I think the major control-related thing I'd recommend is limiting the distance you can travel per click - this would make it a little smarter when you click really far away. I liked the graphics and I think if there's a little bit more to it, it would be an interesting little game.

I can't rate the game since it is looking for a missing .pck so it won't start :(

Note: this is my first time in a game jam, so if my ratings seem really harsh it's probably because I'm new to this.

Theme: You do need to discover "interesting sights", but those sights are already visible in the world. Might be better if the sights were hidden and you had to mouse over to even find them, instead of just having the hover show if a sight is "interesting".

Fun: I couldn't understand how this game was supposed to work. I never saw the king nor had any sense of how "pleased" he was. How many sights is enough? I didn't see any kind of tracker. I could click on the items, but it didn't seem to do anything.

Controls: The waypoint finding was a little weird: I clicked on a point that I thought I could get to, but I guess the path I thought I saw was blocked because the game followed a waypoint around a bridge I didn't even know existed. In that case, I would rather just not go anywhere. I want to find the bridge myself. I would have preferred a more typical movement system (WASD or arrow keys to move) because then I would have felt more like I was in the world, instead of just some overseer. Also, move and inspect should be different buttons. I gave 3/5  because the controls appeared to be functional, just not very pleasant.

Audio: I didn't hear any audio at all

Originality: Searching for items is pretty typical, but the more open-ended "find something that looks interesting" is a bit more original.
