Interesting concept! I included it in my Godot Wild Jam #17 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :)

I really liked this, despite the fact that I don't have any friends. Sound was great, and this might be the first time I've rated "originality" a 5. Awesome stuff! Edit: Not to mention the term "metempsychosis" is extremely rare, and I would have rated it highly simply for using it. :D

Thank you for playing! Happy to hear you enjoyed it.

Thank you so much, that is honestly such high praise~ :D

And I'm glad our name choice paid off. My first instinct was to name it "Memento Mori" but literally everything was named that apparently. Happy accident, since somehow we found this word and it fit the theme basically perfectly.

My friends and I used to use the dictionary like Wikipedia, and I don't recall the exact chain that got us there (probably transmigration), but somehow metempsychosis came up via that. I still remember sitting in my friend's house leafing through stuff for it.

This is, hands down, the most fun I've had playing a GWJ game. Working through the puzzles with a friend was hugely satisfying, the music and sound design was great, and the premise is really, really clever. I don't think I've ever played a game quite like this.

Beyond the odd puzzle that didn't make the deadline, a slight lack of colour from the visuals (which are otherwise very nicely drawn and animated), and a certain [redacted] in the ending, I'm hard-pressed to find anything at fault here.

Great work, everyone.

Thank you so much! :D

Honestly I think your playthrough of it yesterday singlehandedly inspired us to finish, because it was the perfect blind playtest where it seems like all our hard work and ideas were realized. It really just suffers from there not being more to do and a few more options. We'll definitely be reaching out whenever we have an update to try~

It actually turned out that by the end, there was some kind of bug that prevents the game from working outside of debug mode. We're hoping we can fix it at some point post jam.
