I like the idea of the game, as well as the movement animation you created for the dice. however there were quite a few bugs inside the game. For one, sometimes the game would crash for some reason when i got a point. Secondly, i think using dots instead of numbers would make the game much more refined, however i understand that you may not have had enough time to do that.
I also suggest you add a few more features here and there, to make getting the correct number more different each time. For example, you could have it such that certain directional keys would be limited, either from the start of the level or if the player accdientally picks up an object, or maybe allow the player to jump in order to spin their dice faster
I'd say keep going and good luck on your future games!
Thanks for your comment and for playing my game! I know it's quite buggy, but I haven't been able to make it crash... I'm curious what would cause that.
I agree in hindsight that dots would've been nicer (maybe even easier) to implement than a number. I've seen some games similar to this one that also used different colors per number as another visual queue, which I think was a nice touch.
Some kind of power-up or power-down system is a nice idea as well! I want to work on it a little more when the jam is done, so perhaps I can add some of those in there :)
First of all, congratulations on releasing your first game! I spent years messing around with game-design but found my progress sky-rocketed after finishing and releasing my first game, so I hope the same happens for you!
As for the game, I like it as an arcade minigame and I can imagine it working really well within a warioware style game. The timer was a little fast though, I would very rarely even break double digits. I like the movement of the dice, but having dots instead of numbers would help the player visualise the dice. Tutorial was excellent, but after resetting sometimes it would pop up when I pressed space.
Well done!
Hi, im on macOS and I downloaded your game, but I can't play it. It's a .exe file which means that it only runs on Windows. Can you please update the listing? Thanks.
I have updated the listing, thanks for letting me know!
Sometimes a bit frustrating as I cant see the numbers on the other sides. If they would render all the time it would be more enjoyable.
