Well, I can honestly say I made it to the final boss, waited out the full health bar, and then? Hit a random block that gave me "explode" :(

Neat concept, and the level design shows me that you can put together some interesting challenges for sure! While the floaty controls seem to be intentional, I think the moments of getting screwed over by RNG would be a bit less frustrating if the player felt more in control of their own movement. Could even introduce some interesting moments where players could technically finish level without touching a random block, but doing so requires extremely precise platforming. Overall, great work and congrats on getting your game submitted! 10 levels plus a boss battle is no small feat, especially with such a surprisingly good level of polish! :)

Thank you so much for your detailed review! I might consider making a remastered version of the game and focus more on balancing and polishing the movement system. There will also be achievements if you get all or none of the lucky blocks.

Really like the concept!

Not sure why though, but the controls kind of stopped working when gravity was inverted, don't know if that's intentional.

Developer

No it's an oversight and bug. The jump force is determined by the amount of gravity. As there is no gravity, no jumping is applied. :(

I couldn't beat the first level and I don't even know what I do wrong.

I like the random "touch the rainbow block and see what happens" gimmick tho : D

Developer

Sorry, the difficulty curve is kinda all over the place. To beat the first level you can do two things:
1- from the right side, you need to run and jump towards the left wall. While ascending quickly hold right and fly over. (kinda like a boomerang's motion)
2- try your luck(tm) until you get the 'support' effect, which will make the blocks solid.

(If you're stuck on a level you can press F4 to enter debug mode and press enter to skip a level!)

pretty hard but I liked that it inverted the controls.  nice job on your game!

Pretty hard but reminds me of those old browser games I used to play at school. Hard in a good way.

If the movement was better this would've been a good game

Developer

I might do a remaster at some point. Thanks for your feedback!

the player movement was very stiff, it felt like I couldn't control it at all. other than that though, neat concept! excited to see what you make of it in the future!

Developer

Yeah, the movement system was definitely the hardest thing to get to a just "passable" state. It's janky on things like corners and I should've tweaked the velocities more.

definitely. it was still a really interesting concept though.

Simple and nice concept. Keep it up ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘
