Nice visuals and puzzles. Only issue I have with this game is the slow movement. Sometimes I had an idea of how to solve a puzzle, but it took me so long to execute it. I know the snap to grid movement is crusual, but it would be nice to let player hold button to direction and character would make move in intervals.

But having overview of next sides of the dice was really good addition. I didn't hold physical cube in my hand just to solve the puzzle :D

Developer

Thanks for your feedback and glad you liked it, I was the one who made the levels and we implemented the sides overview from the start.

Also I gotta say, from all the games I’ve rated so far, yours is probably my favourite.

One of the better games in the jam in my opinion, there is a point to each level, and I think it's very unique, a huge die that blocks your way and enabling things.

Good luck!

This game is extremely polished and definiely deserves more attention!!! The overall mechanic is very creativ and leads to interesting and fun levels. The art is amazing. Well done!

Thanks for your compliment on the art! I did the majority of the textures (everything apart from some textures in the final room, the player textures, and the menu stuff), and I appreciate it, especially since I don't consider myself that experienced with the medium yet. Will be sure to check yours' out once I've got time!

p.s. there's a bunch of fun bugs, and I hope Mark finds none of them (fingers crossed) - shouldn't be able to stumble across any unless you're specifically looking for them, though

Aiit thanks for playing my game! This was my first game jam and i underestimated time and wasted it on not finding the solution to simple problems. Also I stayed up till 6 o' clock in the morning every night which left me feel dehydrated, tired and of course unhealthy. I hope you apear in the top 100 since your game has lots of potential! Cheers

It wouldn't be a 50 hour game jam without underestimating time, wasting hours and staying up late! I literally stayed up an extra 1 hour 20 minutes until after 1 am on the first day just naming the files for placeholder wall textures, where every single file name described what type of wall it was and it's usage, in as few letters as possible, and with a system it seems only I understood, because the 2 other devs just didn't texture the walls until after I had made the actual textures for them. And get this, apparently I could've just sent over all of the placeholder wall textures in one image, separated by a single pixel each, which would've been much easier, as evidenced by the fact that I was told this just before handing over the real wall textures, and I'd sent those over much faster than I had the first time (I would have used a simpler naming system for the new textures anyway, so it always would've been faster the second time, but still).

I also made static sprites for the player (that weren't just sprites randomly found on one of the other devs' computers) on the final day, where I expected to finish the rest of the textures needed and also animate the new player sprite, when I have had almost 0 experience in animation, let alone a walking animation. Yeah, the randomly found sprites were the ones we ended up using.

You live and learn; this is the first game we've made as a team, and this is the first game jam I've participated in, too. I'll never forget that naming walls individually is stupid, that sending multiple textures in single file is a thing you can do, and that I should probably learn how to actually do animation before attempting it.

Still, I'm proud of what I've made, and I hope you're proud of your game, too.
Until next year!

Fun little puzzle, feels very polished. One thing I would add is holding a button to move.

I like that the dice is being pushed by a character and not just rolls around, it add a layer of environmental puzzles to the simple design. Nice!
