it's not a good thing when running through levels and ignoring the enemies is more fun and practical than actually playing the game. it needs to be more fast paced (the time for loading spells is too high) and gameplay needs to be more fun. otherwise not a bad game. looks solid.

Cool Game! The die faces and the art look amazing! I think you should be able to choose when to fire a projectile and i was a bit confused on when the enemies die. otherwise awesome entry! =D

The art is great, i think you should be able to roll the die with one button and then with a different button. This would allow the player to strategies and the time it takes to roll could limit the player would encourage them to be smart about their resources.

This is a cool dungeon style game, and the art style is really good. I liked your concept of an rng-based attacking system, but I agree with others that it takes too long. Also, because the player moves fast it's just easier to run to the next levels than fight your way through. I think if these problems are tackled the game could become very fun!

Really cool idea, and good progress for by yourself, let alone your first game. Well done

Very well done for your first game! Your pixel art is fantastic, and I really liked the music.

I really loved the color palette and this is a really great first game!

For your first finished game, this is very well done! I was very surprised when I got to floor 10 and saw I could swap out my dice, and that it worked :)

I encountered a few visual bugs (characters being inbetween pixels, screen tearing, etc.) but nothing game breaking.

My critique is that the pacing of the game could be improved. I love how fast the wizard moves... but casting a spell takes *ages* compared to it. It always feels better to just try to dodge around the creatures. I love the spellcasting mechanic itself (randomly determined spells) that makes me think of the wizards games.

Solid entry, good work. The music was great and fit the chaotic nature of the movement :)

Oh and your pixel art is amazing!!

Thank you so much for the kind words!

I had an absolute blast, thank you for the experience! I can't believe you had the time to make a full-fledged dungeon-crawling roguelike in a weekend and still had the time to integrate an attack system with dices you can actually trade. The game already works very well and I think it has a lot of potential if you decide to keep on working on it.

Developer

Thank you!

Clean movement system, echoing what others have said about the break in gameplay the rolling of the die creates as a mechanic. Awesome product though!

Thank you!

first, Love the color palette, it really does go a long way.

on paper, the casino ability sounds like an interesting mechanic, in practice it just makes you to have to wait a lot of time doing nothing before actually attacking. a potential fix is to drastically shorten the reroll time, even to the point that it happens almost immediately, don't punish the player for rerolling by letting him run around doing nothing.
the player moves very fast, and is hard to control, try to limit the movespeed.
lastly, enemies are also super fast and unpredictable, it makes some of the damage you take feel a little cheap.

still, you finished a game in a very short period of time, and with a little bit of tweaking it can be great, just finishing a game is a huge achievement, be proud of your project and good luck on the next one (;

Thank you so much!

I agree on all your points. Most of them occurred due to time constraints. I might try to update it after the voting is over.

:)

Hello, I really love the "casino" feature, but it takes too long to cast a spell and enjoy the combat because most of the time you're just running from the monster.

Nevertheless, good job :D

Thank you for playing! "Shorten the roll time" was on my list almost from the start but by the end it completely slipped my mind. Thank you for the feedback. :)

During my run I realized that having to wait so long to roll a dice makes you think more about it and actually look for nice hidden spots before trying to cast a spell. I mean, it wouldn't harm the game if the time to roll the dices was a bit shorter of course, but if tweaked well I think it could also be a really interesting mechanic to make the game a bit more reflexive.

Great Game! It's in my opinion just a bit hard, but i love the aesthetics

Developer

Thank you for the feedback. I agree that it is too hard. A lot of elements are put together without much thought, including the difficulty and enemy placement. I just didn't have time because the core mechanics took till almost the very end.

I am glad you enjoyed it, though! If the aesthetics look good it is likely just cause I stuck to a limited pre-made color palette, but thanks nonetheless!

I have played and rated your game as well. I will leave a comment there soon!
