Big fan of all the music and sound effects!

Not sure about the controls but the game was satisfying to play nonetheless! Good game!

I had a lot of fun playing this! My main recommendation is to try and streamline the controls a little more.

Specifically, if you want the player to use WASD with one hand, and "," and "." with the right hand, that means I can't use my mouse. think the best option would have been to remove the mouse clicking altogether, and bind each different shape to a number so you can just press the number keys to really quickly swap between each piece.

Overall great work, well done!

I liked how you implemented the idea into the game, I found it very interesting. The music and SFX were nice, but the art could definetely be improved (or maybe you wanted the game to look simple, idk). The puzzles were very clever, I liked them. good job

I really like how you introduced every concept with an easy level, then built upon it later with a harder level! It has really good level design and progression!

Great job gradually increasing difficulty and incorporating tutorial content into your levels!

Really good concept!

Fine idea and plays out really nice! Would be nice to change control a bit so the player does not have to switch  hand from keyboard to mouse to change the box that is being controlled. Good job!

The level design is a little repetive, but fine.

You’re definitely testing my button clicking precision in some of those levels. Simple enough concept, great music later on in the game.

the concept's there! a few things like the blurred sprites and sfx issues stood out. is the music original?

Developer (1 edit)

Thanks! The music is original, by v-top (https://v-top.itch.io/ ). Also, I added the sfx at the end so I couldn’t test it much, could you clarify what you mean by sfx issues?

Submitted

in the first few levels, the sfx is delayed and it’s pretty easy to make overlapping noises but it’s not that much overall

I think it's a cool concept. The art could be a little bit nicer though. I enjoyed the gameplay and the sounds were cool too. Good job!

I found the puzzles pretty fun and had a nice ramp up of difficulty, honestly the art is fine for this style of game, but I recommend either not smoothing the image or downscaling a higher rez box to get rid of the blur, and make the controls tighter, instead of swapping between movement and scaling to swapping objects, other than that wish list I found the game very fun.

It had its fun moments like turning a rectangle at an angle and sliding perfectly through a tunnel, but the red maze walls  were hard not to hit and required too precise of movement. I think this could be a really enjoyable game with a little more time. If you wouldn't mind playing my teams game we would really appreciate it.

A good game concept that I think would have done a bit better as a puzzle game than as... I guess a precision platformer? My favorite parts were definitely the moments I had to think about what box goes where and less about not touching the walls. The parts with the triangles were really cool because I hadn't thought about how that shape might work, so maybe adding more kinds of shapes and making it so each shape has a particular goal it needs to get to would nudge this game more in the direction it feels like it wants to go. Nevertheless, this has got the bones of a great puzzle game - nice work! The evolving music was a great bonus too 🎵

I like it, a solid basis for a puzzle game, maybe a timer for speed runs? I had a little trouble resizing the orange box at one point but I got it eventually.

You definitely owned the assignment! Scaling is a center part of the gameplay. Really fun to play!

Submitted(+1)

even if the idea is very simple, but it's still really interesting to play)

Like many have mentioned you have a nice thing going but it is held back by some minor oversights that stack up to become something more, small things like the slidiness making it hard to maneuver the red corridors, the pushing mechanic being painfully slow, or the need to get our hand of the keyboard to switch between blocks.

These are all things that could have been found and fixed relatively easily with a bit of time spent playtesting which IMHO is priceless.

I would really love to see the game have more of a focus on the puzzle aspect of and ditch the "rage game-esq" red corridors.

I loved the music and how it builds upon itself as you progress through the game.

Nice game! Would be nice if you could switch the boxes with your keys or move the scale buttons to the left. Now I need to constantly switch. The pushing of the boxes was a bit slow. The rest of the game was quite good!
