Great game! I first tried the bad ending(do all) but got neutral(do some, but not all), then tried the good ending(do none) and at last done the bad ending!
This is a pretty interesting concept! In execution, it didn’t feel too different from just a regular CYOA game (playing up until “The School”), but definitely had a different vibe to it and I enjoyed the writing.
I know it wouldn’t fit the theme of the jam as well, but I wonder if it would be interesting to have a psychology-related theming: You’re playing as the superego trying to keep id in its place. At least, that’s what the game felt like to me. Might even be interesting to have to make choices that keep id, ego and superego in a balance?
Presentation-wise, I found it a bit hard to discern the narration and information segments. Maybe additional color-coding might help with that?
Definitely an interesting start, though, and I’d like to see where it can be taken!
We had very similar idea but had to commend you because we have nowhere near the amount of content you created
Doww, thank you! Really cool to see more narrative-focused takes on the theme!
Really solid concept, one of those ones that you wish it was more than a jam game because it feels like there would be a lot to explore in something like this and a visual novel. Well done!
I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed it! It was a lot of fun to make; I'm not sure if I'll work on it more, but who knows! Maybe once I'm more experienced with programming and such
I love the idea, Kinda feel related because im a shy guy haha, the mechanic of erase choices is very neat, more visual reinforcement would be perfect. Great Work.
Thank you! Yeah I completely agree, the green and grey text was the only solution I could easily find. I'm hoping to work on the game more once the jam is over, so I'll add this to the to-do list!
This is so charming, I loved the relationship between the main character and the narrator, and the theme it has in the good ending. It's style is a bit flat, but kinda charming in a way, too.
Really liked the mechanic of erasing an option, trying to grt the character on the right path.
Pretty nice experience overall, 10/10
Yay, that makes me really happy! Thank you!
Had to replay it to get the good ending. That's it, that's the comment.
Then I'm glad that you found it interesting enough to play twice! Hope it was worth it
Kind of reminds me of the Stanley Parable. Good job.
Thank you!
True
I like the idea of the choose your own adventure flipped on it's head. School theme was basic, and art style limited, but solid base idea.
Thank you for the feedback! I was running out of time when I made Part 4, but I'd love to try and introduce more puzzle elements into each part if I have the time.
That. Was. Amazing.
I have NO idea how it fit the theme, and staring at size 11 text for so long makes it look slightly blue, but I loved it!
Great (normal) text based adventure game
Yay! I'm really glad you enjoyed it!
