Cool idea! There's some good polish in some areas like the slow motion and dashing feels heaps good. Other areas are holding the game back like collision detection.
The slowdown is super satisfying! I played this for longer longer than had expected, ha! Nice work!
The shooting with its slowdown aim time is really good!
Lots of fun! Really satisfying when you destroy an enemy. Could have used a bit of a tutorial in the beginning (but maybe that's my bad for not reading first lol).
Hi! I’m really glad you liked it :)
I was hugely running out of time so i had to cut UI and tutorial, i don’t even have a minimalistic starting screen :D
I feel that! We didn't even get music in our game. Ha!
I like the concept. Shooting the arrows and slowing down time feels satisfying. The user experience could perhaps use some work; it’s not immediately obvious you’re allowed to fall off the map or that the arrows let you jump more when above you or something. It could also be cool if the arrows did damage on their way back as well, although it might be overpowered – not sure.
The music was alright, and I guess it fit the mood of the game pretty well (low stakes, quite chill), although it’s a strange vibe to go for in a game about combat and killing enemies and such.
Thank you!
The game lacks a lot of polish and playtesting since i was doing it solo, premade assets and source projected helped out a bit but still not enough. I have spent most of the time tweaking the jumping around and shooting so i’m really glad that you liked those core mechanics that i have focused on :)
The grappling hook arrows are a really neat idea! Loved the slow down effect; though an aim line would have been cool, I found that I never needed it to hit my targets. The glowing is a nice touch.
For feedback, the game could have benefited from quality of life things like a health indicator and damage feedback on enemies. The core grappling mechanic could also be tweaked to be easier to manipulate your character.
Awesome job!
Thank you very much for the feedback! I have actually added player health at the very last moment so i had no time to implement a proper UI for it. And yeah :) damage feedback and aiming line would be a wonderful thing if i had time to add everything :) I think i should join a team for the next jam because i could never finish a game for a jam solo :(
nice game, really liked the aesthetics and effects, but could have done with a little mote polish. Good concept though!
This was a neat little game! I really enjoyed the slow motion shooting, although it was a bit difficult to understand how the physics worked sometimes.
Thank you for kind words! I’m so glad you liked the shooting, i decided to focus on a single satisfying mechanic this jam but still ended up extending the scope so some things are a bit wonky :)
