So I agree with Impbox Games below that, while the presentation is great, the completely random nature makes it difficult to play. It is indeed "out of control" but to such a degree that it takes the fun out of it. Like Impbox, I completed the first level after figuring out that I had to commit to the direction I was moving in, which was fun to figure out, but couldn't finish level 2.
It is a really fun idea though, so with just some minor tweaks it could easily be a complete release.
Great work!
thank you so much, jams are all about learning from your mistakes and i have honest reviewers such as yourself to thank for
Really nice art and sfx is cool! The gameplay was interesting once I figured it out then trying to plan out how I'd do it, but the randomness felt a bit too much, obviously it's out of control, but not being able to plan your next move was frustrating. I liked that you had to pick a direction and stick to it. Being able to see which portal you'd come out of next might be nice.
I finished level 1 and it felt good, level 2 was too much.
Congratulation! this game art is so cute, the music is a festival means I LIKE. 5/5
I liked the graphic styles and music there. But the porting is pretty annoying and makes it almost difficult to formulate a meaningful plan of action to complete the level. It's confusing at first but the gimmick is pretty unique and fun.
Really liking the presentation, and the idea is pretty cool. Yet I really don't enjoy the execution here. I see you have some cool ideas for the levels like those midair teleports and stuff, yet you cram too much into a single level so it gets a bit overwhelming (I mean, completing level 1 took me a while, and now I'm stuck at level 2!). Still, it's a very cute game. Just tone down the levels a bit and tweak some of the collisions, and I think this could be a fun puzzle game to me.
yes, we were contemplating on which way to go. Finally, went with 'slam the keyboard with rage' type while making it cute. Sadistic innit? :D Thank you for your constructive analysis.
I love this! I loved that you could portal in mid air in order to save yourself. I agree that a pattern or indicator of what portal is next would make the game more strategic but going with the theme I kinda liked the randomness once I got used to it.
Thank you!
Was there a pattern for what portal you would come out of? If I knew which one it would have been a little less frustrating but it's very cute! I love the artwork :)
So, we planned to make something cute but at the same time, something very frustrating. Also, the portals are out of control, even we couldn't control them, if you know what I mean :D
