Great timing on when the rotations started! I had just gotten comfortable and thought "well, I guess I got the hang of this" when, WHAM, the orientation changes. I kept playing after that to see what came next... although I never got much farther...

I really liked what I played, but found very difficult to progress. I think I got the general idea, but I was frustrated that sometimes my 'up' input wouldn't register, and I wouldn't jump. Not sure if this was part of the design or not? But it's a really great idea :)

Developer

First of all, thanks for playing! Small insight in the jumping issue: if you press the jump-button before the player is registered as being 'on the ground' it will refuse to jump, even after you've landed. This, combined with a tendency in players to try to jump slightly before having landed, means that it'll seem like the game is refusing to let you jump. If given another go at it this would definitely be on top of the list for changes :').

I think you've got a really good idea, but I'm reaaally confused on how to play. Seems really hard, are arrow keys the only controls?

The premise is interesting albeit a bit difficult to play

But,

- The vertical acceleration and deceleration feel are a bit too fast, especially considering how short the horizontal range of each jump is.

- The feedback for the collision with the platforms feel very bad, there were multiple cases where slight touches despawns the platforms unintentionally.

- The initial stage feel a bit long, especially when there is no distinct break between stages

Such a cool take on the theme! Would be cool to see this trippy platforming idea taken further. :)

This makes my head spin, very fun tho.

Says Linux and Mac build, butt there’s only Windows.

Developer

Apologies for that. For the time being I've changed the description and I'll update with a mac and linux build later today. I'll keep you posted!

Quick update regarding this, due to the voting for the GMTK Game Jam I won't be able to update the existing files. The game should be playable in the browser, but sadly I'll have to wait till the end of this week to add the Linux and Mac build, apologies for that.

I played the game far longer than I had anticipated! :) I didn't feel like I could perfectly transfer my intent to the jump/movement of the cube, essentially the controls were slightly limiting. Apart from that the simple challenge of jumping around while confusingly spinning was very challenging. Really like it! The graphics we're a bit hard on the eyes, but not too much. Ok!

* Edit: Top score:

Graphics hurt my eyes. Super simple but I had a lot of fun playing it. Played several times.

Thanks for playing the game! Graphics were (and still are) quite the tricky thing so it was a tradeoff between getting the desired confusing effect vs. making it somewhat painfull to look at. Honestly not quite sure at which end of the spectrum this has fallen and whether or not it's the right one :')
