Game Maker's Toolkit Jam 2018

I agree with others that it felt slow. Almost felt like a cookie clicker game where you would just wait and wait for things to happen. I could see it being expanded though. More trees, The ability to stretch your screen could add new things, although scrolling makes you managing harder, in an interesting way.

As for the game jam rule/idea, it was fine. In a way you do control yourself as a tree? I see what you mean though in that for most survival games you gotta run/move to survive. While the management was basic, it was good. The weird pacing and lack of other stuff to do made me give it a 3.

PS I liked the spaceship surprise. That got me good xD

I liked the idea. I mostly agree with Inogat. I could see this being a good idle game.

But for me this game got very boring very quick. A minute a day with only one action per day just felt really slow. It doesn't help that this is a jam setting and there's lots of other games to play.

Made me smile but I got soooooooo bored. I feel like there is a great idea, it just needs to grow a little more. Give it more time, and better art, and the woodcutters actually kill the meditative mood of the whole experience. I can easily see that as a phone app that just sits there and gently grows as you nurture the tree. Maybe some phone alerts that go like : quick, woodcutters are cutting your tree down!!!! I'd play that.

Thanks for the feedback! Yeah I agree it would have been way better as an app. One of the design struggles was deciding how often the lumberjacks would come in my opinion they do come too fast. Thanks for playing!

There is a problem with the game... when i grow, and i have reached the stage where the top of the tree is no longer visible, i go back to a sprout
