This game is hillarious. The sprites and animations are great! Very fun expierience
Thanks so much for the kind words, glad you enjoyed it :)
This game was a silly-but-charming piece about a guy who should probably see someone about his severe dehydration. The puzzle mechanic of crafting items to jump on sort of reminded me of that one Builder Mario power up, but the game also discourages you from using it to much with the point/recycling system. It also gives you choices between harder platforming and the "easier" method of using waste to bridge past obstacles, which I thought was a nice touch. The achievement system was also a neat addition, too!
I will say that the jumping felt a bit clunky to me because of the delay it took for the character to jump, but I could still work around it. If I struggled, the bottles served as a good way of picking up my slack.
It was a fun little platformer with a neat mechanic, and I enjoyed myself. Good work!
Thanks for playing and the review, glad you enjoyed it and hopefully found some fun in the silly setting. I've not played Builder Mario but I'll have a look for it. As for the jump, I think you're right. It is a bit sticky - particularly if you have a bottle in hand. It makes the big staircase sections a bit of a chore (among other sections perhaps), so I'd definitely look to make it a bit more responsive in the future. Thanks for the kind words, and I'll make sure to return the favour and pay your submission a visit later today :)
Bringing the Queen Cream vibes. I thought the gameplay was hit and miss but I really rated the concept and artwork choices. The jump animation was very pleasing
Personally, I like to crack open a cold Monster Gush on a hot summer's day like today :D thanks for playing and leaving a comment, even if it wasn't your cup of tea (totally fair, especially as its a lot clunkier than we'd like a platformer to be.) Glad you enjoyed the concept and art :)
I mean who doesn't secretly crave a Monster Gush from time to time?
Crazy and funny at once. It was a bit strange to use the word "drink" to summon giant bottles, but you get use to it. :D Also i liked that the puzzles were solvable in different ways. Well done.
Haha yeah the drink animation could do with the bottle rotating but hey ho.. Thanks so much for playing! Glad you enjoyed the puzzles and the humour :)
It really looks great, and the weird premise it’s really fun! The game was also pretty complete, love the UI, graphics, and everything. Great game, but I didn’t get the joke, lol. My personal feedback it’s: I don’t know if I was doing something wrong, but Drink = generate bottle, was weird. And some bottles I was able to interact with, others no.
Thanks for playing and for the lovely feedback! Glad you enjoyed it!! Sorry you didn't get the joke (I'm not sure I did either), but it could be because the score counters aren't super clear in earlier versions (recent updates have made everything a bit clearer).
The drink animation isn't the most obvious hahaha, I don't know who swings their arm around and apparates a bottle out of thin air to "drink", but we had to make do D: This beautiful animation will eventually see a change to make him actually drink, but its looking like it might need to be post-jam judging.
Also thanks for pointing out the inconsistent bottle interactions. They should be fixed now!
It's a shame there are no sfx in the game because it looks great. I love the ridiculous premise of being able to materialise human-sized fizzy drinks at will (and often by accident. I love that you address the deep moral question of whether to litter, or take a ride on a pigeon instead.
The aim of the game could probably be made clearer (like, the balance of how many bottles you create vs how many you manage to recycle should be optimised to lean towards recycling, right?)
I was going to try playing through to the end, but when I fell on the spikes on the way back from a secret area to gather recycling, I couldn't face going through that again.
An interesting game with some great qualities, and a charming approach to the character design and animation.
I assume becoming this intertwined with a recycling bin is a deliberate comment on how much you all love recycling, and not a bug? Right?
Thanks for sharing!
Thanks so much for playing and giving it a good go! Some of the bugs have been fixed now, and achievements should properly pop up, so there's a bit more incentive to get through those tricky sections (which should hopefully be a little more consistent and less tricky with the bug fixes).
You ask great, deep, meaningful questions and I am glad those touches were not lost on you. If you have another crack at it, I'd suggest asking why one of the pidgeons in level 2 goes against the flock...
I don't know if I am stupid or what, but I didn't understand it. Pretty nice though.
Hi, thanks for giving it a go. I'm sure any lack of clarity was due to lack of foresight in the design and not having much time for testing unfortunately. Could you expand on what was unclear? Thanks for your feedback!
