  • A shame the game didn't come together at the end, I think a cooking themed RPG could be pretty fun.
  • The game unfortunately doesn't work. Nothing is explained and everything is default RPGMaker assets and sounds. It looks like the building blocks are there for something but as of now, there's nothing really to get into. A shame as I would have liked to see what the final vision was for this!
  • I can see what you were going for. There are better ways to do it, but for your first try this was a good start.

I have heard that some people gets softlocked in the second encounter. I can't find any bugs, but I completely forgot to mention the temperature system I implemented.
One must use the firestone spells in the magic menu to increase the temperature for grilling after adding the chicken. To defeat the second encounter, do the following; use the "strong firestone" spell > add chicken > add spice, and use the "cook/stir" command a few times.

Fail. Wrong review. I will modify it later, I haven't played it yet.

You mentioned in your comment how doing everything took too much time and was a struggle. Yes, yes it is, lol. I do hope it didn't deter you from future development, because what you said about learning it definitely true. Every frustration can lead to learning, and hopefully you can take what you've learned and expand on it with an update or future project.

Developer(+1)

Yes! 100% true. Thank you!
Updates are planned. At least until I feel like the game is in such a state I wanted it to be for the jam. If someone actually like it at that point, I will add more to it.
Later, I would love to do another project!

Developer

Once the jam is over, I will replace the broken version of the game with an exact same but working one.
Then I will continue to work on the game until it is the way I wanted it to be for the game jam.
I probably won't work on it more than that though. The core gameplay is boring I think.

I did as you asked and everything worked, but I have a strong request, please, if you continue to make games on RPGmaker, look at how to adjust the volume (I almost died of a heart attack when I went into the menu), I do not believe that in the editor you can not adjust the volume of the game (I mean when you just go into it)

and at the beginning of the game I did not understand where I ended up, there were four characters and a cat, the cat for some reason transfers me to the house of three characters asking if I am ready (for what?) and the fourth starts the battle, I walked around a little more, ended up in an empty city, moved somewhere and still not understanding anything turned off ... I do not see the logic in this game

Developer(+2)

Thank you for the feedback! I am glad you managed to get the game running. I will make sure to lower the volume right away.
You are right. There is no "logic" behind the cat. It's only there as a promise. There WILL be a game there eventually.
The only thing you can do as of right now is to start a new game and do the cooking encounters in order by talking to the characters from left to right.
I regret uploading the game in this unfinished state. I mostly did it out of principle.

Developer(+4)

Man... Making my first game was not easy. Everything was just a constant struggle.
I did not have time to make any art, maps, or dialogue. I was not even able to make the main gameplay functional.
But I tried my best and learned a lot. That is worth something at least, right?

it doesn't work, it gives an error

Loading Error

Failed to load: img/system/MadeWithMv.png

Developer

Hello! Yeah, I checked the "Do not include unused files" in checkbox in RPG Maker when I exported the game.
The missing image file is available on the game store page. Since I only had like a minute to upload it I did not have time to test it.
I am sorry for any inconvenience caused.

Can you fix it? The error still occurs

Developer

I noticed now that the image file changed name when I uploaded it to itch.io. Because of course it did.
Unfortunately, I can't upload any more files to the page until the jam is over so you must rename the image file you took from the game page to MadeWithMv.png and put it in the 'img\system' folder.

I dont get it. What game page and what file?

Submitted

on the game page (which is not the jam page) it seems like you can send new files, try putting the updated version there

Developer (2 edits)

I wanted to but uploads are disabled.
> Uploads are temporarily disabled because voting for GET LARGE Jam is in progress. You'll be able to make changes after the jam is over. If you delete a file it can not be recovered or re-uploaded until uploads are re-enabled.

ok, now I'll try to do as you ask
