Easy and amusant.

Lack of structure in the game, like a way to lose. Also, review the speed of the bottom bread. Otherwise, it's nice.

The girl already existed before the jam. Were the art pieces done during the jam, or were additional versions created for the jam? No answers needed.
But based on this, I think your participation deserves discussion. (Only from my point of view. And I am nobody.)

Its simple and the theme is tacked on as others have said, but I think the sounds are satisfying and its a sweet kind of short.

I did find some bugs with the collision of the toppings, one time I managed to get a topping under the bun and it started stacking from the bottom of the screen.

Doesn't use the theme too much but that's ok. Forgive me if I'm wrong, but based on your profile this seems like one of your first projects. If so, this is not bad! There were no bugs and I appreciate the use of royalty free assets as you didn't have an artist helping you. Thank you for making this and I hope you had a good time!

Yeah; I kinda intended to have a story about how there's a new restaurant that's a sandwich shop on a subway; but I cut it because I wanted to get something semi-playable out and didn't think I'd have the time or ability to implement it. It was my first game dev project in a few years; the engine has changed so much and I'm really out of practice. I did have  a good time and thank you for playing!

Subs on the Subway!

  1. Fun: It’s fine. There aren’t glaring control or input issues. +0
  2. Creativity: It’s a catch-drops game. The graphics look okay, not just the ones from the Forks pack, but the drawn ones. +0
  3. Fetish Factor: This really didn’t come together in my mind. It’s gating the art instead of adding to it. I need to throw a -1 at this or ‘creativity’ so I think it’s landing here. The mechanics are detached.
  4. Theme: -1 It’s on a subway, yes, but it doesn’t really work together or motivate the concept at all. It feels bolted on. Bonus point for having a web build.

Thanks for that criticism on 3! It's been stewing in my mind since I saw your review; I agree with it. It's something I'll keep in for a post-jam update (or a future game).

A game made in 6 hours, knowing game jams of this kinda fetish I expected way more for what, a 7 days deadline?

Developer

I'm sorry my game was disappointing. I'm a little disappointed in it too. It was actually more like 2-3 hours a night after work for every day of the jam; but I was also learning the engine. I hope I can make something that you'll enjoy in the future

Well, this is definitely a Game Jam game. Its a simple gameplay loop, but needs more testing. The food drops faster than the plate moves, so you miss most things due to wonky hitboxes. If your sandwich gets too tall without catching a top bread, then your best choice to is hold still land hope an off screen top bread lands on your stack. Pretty sure the sprite of the girl is made with borrowed assets as well? No plot, no ending, just an infinite gameplay loop that needs more polish.
2/5 I've played worse, but even the leniency we give to game jam games won't propel this one to a positive score.

I definitely should've included a more explicit fail state or something to handle it getting too tall; but I kinda ran out of time. Thanks for playing and rating!

slow movement, the assets used here were made bye other dev and there is no end neither story, whats the ponit?
