I had a lot of fun with this one! The art is simple but cute and serves its purpose. You obviously nailed the theme, too! Two very nitpicky things:

  • I didn't realize at first that you could move the thermometer. That's very likely a user error and not something you did, honestly.
  • Like others have mentioned, it was difficult to tell sometimes when the food was done at a certain temp. Making that a little clearer if you decide to update would be great.

Otherwise, I thought it was really nice and you did a great job. And now I want some hot dogs.

Lol it made me want hot dogs too! Thanks so much for playing I really appreciate the feedback!

You really captured the experience of grilling out perfectly. If only smell-o-trons existed and we could smell the meats grilling.

LOL If they did I would have certainly made time to work on that integration

Overall I really like your game! It was a little hard to tell where the different stages were on the thermometer.  It would have been nice to have a smaller scale in the instructions, or to have color ranges.  Might have made it a little easier to figure out how the game works a little better.  Also feels like a bit of a difficulty jump between the earlier levels and level 5 as I had to try level 5 several times, but did not have to repeat any earlier levels.  The art was great though, and I loved the music!

Thanks for the feedback and for taking the time to play the game! After the jam I thought about the meter some more and think it could have used an outline that shows the full meter that then fills up instead of just a bar that gets bigger.

Outside of the stuff mentioned in my comment, the only real suggestion would've been to have more descriptive feedback, and I see you've already commented on that fact. Aside from that, maybe adding timed orders kinda like an overcooked thing, but I realise that'd change the pace of the game a fair bit so perhaps not.

Great job!

Timed orders would actually add a good bit of challenge and force people to cook multiple things at once so it's definitely something I should look at for possible future additions

This was really fun! I loved the music and general style. The thermometer is a really clever way of providing various kinds of feedback that might have otherwise been difficult to convey without a but of extra UI elements, especially since it adds a layer of realistic challenge to the process.

I found myself wanting the measurements to be a bit more precise (even just tick marks for the various doneness levels would have been nice) and some more specific feedback about what factors were off would have been helpful. At the same time, both of those are also pretty true-to-life. People don’t always give great feedback, and it’s hard to precisely measure most of the metrics the multi-mometer was giving you. So all-in-all I think was a really solid game!

Thanks so much for the feedback. I initially wanted to have the talk bubble explain what the lowest-scoring element was after the score, but it got low priority and didn't end up making the cut. But I agree with that for sure, something to expand upon in the future.
