Really cool concept! One thing I would say is maybe shoot on every second beat not every fourth - the spaces are pretty enclosed so it's easy to cornered and just have to wait to shoot. Love the visuals too! Great game!

I love the idea and look of the game a lot! Same with the tts voice actor, that was a nice touch =)

The songs felt a bit mistimed/not really something you'd want to use for rhythm game music. There's also issues of songs having faster/slower parts, different moments you'd want to focus on for the beats, etc etc, so something a bit more dynamic other than "hit once every 4 beats" probably would've worked better in general. Also, missing a beat is WAY too punishing--most players will only hit once per set of 4, and if it happens to be too early/late they'll take a penalty for missing the 4th note AND hitting the 1st/3rd one.

It's a great start though and I love what you did, I just think it needs a lot more refinement on a core level, especially if this is something you want to keep working on going forwards.

Really cool project. I love the 2d shadows and the bpm/shot combination, even if do not understand pretty well when i have to shoot. Which tool did you use for the shadows and to make the game?

Developer(+1)

well, it might be confusing at first but then it should feel natural.
and I use Godot a free open source game engine, the shadows are a built-in function.

Dang, this game is very creative. First I really like the main menu, definitely way different than all the other ones and just shows that you put in a lot of effort. The rhythm-based shooting is also very creative, and the music and audio is nice. But you can probably juice the game up a bit more, add like blood, screen shake, particles, etc or just make the shooting sound less repetitive. But with only 1 week, I think you managed to get a lot done so great job!

Developer(+1)

I actually wanted to add screen shake and other stuff, but some bugs popped up and I didn't have time to go through debugging since I made this game in only 4 days ( I joined the jam kinda late ).
Thank you for your feedback !!

This game was way more fun than it deserves to be, i've thought about the idea of a rhythm/combat hybrid game for awhile and honestly don't know why it's been missing in a game til now... It took me awhile to realize I should click an eighth note after the beat but after that it felt natural and very juicy. Maybe in a future update you could introduce new guns that fire on different beats or in different rhythms? Or have the enemies also attack on the beat and you can block on the beat? Just throwing ideas out

Developer

I did actually think about adding more guns and new rhythms but I joined the jam a bit late, so I didn't have much time to add more stuff.
Thank you for your ideas, I will add them in a future update since I want to actually make this game even better.
Thank you for playing :3
