  • Very interesting story, but the game has stopped working in the wood scene. Was it the end of the game? Don't think so. Saving current progress to SRAM would have been great for this game.
  • Nice graphics, interesting story
  • A very cute game that explores the deeper meaning behind children's stories, imaginary friends and childhood itself. Well made, classic graphics, although a touch disappointing that it doesn't use the full width of the screen. Also, no need to apologize to people at the end of your game. I really enjoyed it a lot and I think others will too!
  • The graphics are very nice for a GB game, but they aren't good enough for a GBA game. The story is super cute, though. I found it super frustrating to advance the text by pressing A a thousand times, to the point where I didn't even notice some of the questions where you can pick between two options. Making the text appear right away, or increasing the size of the text box would help.

Jam ROM submission

Ok - understood! I attached the GBA ROM file as "MYGAMENAME_jam.gba".

An excellent visual novel, I love the writing and the backgrounds.

Gets into some real "not real" topics and they are just great.

Went back through to grab the other endings, yep, they're all about as sad as each other.

here's my opinion on this as someone who grew up reading books more than watching cartoons - yes, screw disney and their winnie the pooh adaptation, a.a. milne FTW

but seriously, this is a great bittersweet novel with incredibly good writing and cute illustrations, this IS the good stuff! i've seen all its endings and i truly felt like a bad person about the worse ones c':

Wow, thank you so much for not only playing, but seeking out every ending (especially since the big ending choice is right at the end of the game)!

I will say, the Disney cartoons have their charm, but it's clear that a lot gets lost in translation with these books. I'm definitely more a fan of the books than the cartoons!

I can only apologise for making the choices in the story so mean, that's on me, not on you! If anyone is a bad person it's the person who made you choose in the first place! Sorry about that!

please do not feel like you have to apologize for your creative choices, as making players feel different emotions is an integral part of any story-centered game and also something that i personally really enjoy about games in general!

thank you for sharing this story with the world!

I couldn't hold my tears while playing through this 😭

[Spoilers ahead!]

I realized the importance of a teddy bear later on in my life when it was not even linked to childhood memories, but it became a symbol of a burning yet distant desire. I was kinda anticipating the sad ending even since the matches and sticks have been mentioned, but I was not expecting the final decision to be put in my own hands. I appreciate the thoughts and information given on the Disney movies. I've seen 0 of those films in my life (grew up with other ones 😄) so a bit of context helped helped me a lot in understanding the story. Believe me or not, I've done burning forgetting rituals myself, so you can't tell how much I relate to your game. However, for nothing in the world I would burn my teddy bear. If he dies, I go with him. Guess despite being an adult I don't want to lose my child within me, after all.

I'm usually not a visual novel guy, but you had me with this one. Meaningful words, beautiful graphics and deeply emotional message. Excellent work! Thank you for showing this to the world!

Thank you so much!

It's really wonderful to hear the the game resonated with you. To be honest, even up until submitting this (and afterwards!) I wasn't sure if I even had anything with this. I knew the themes and story were important to me, but, especially as it's a visual novel and not a more widely loved genre, I really didn't have any reason to think that anyone else would "get" what I was going for.

It means more than you know to hear that you got what I was going for with this. Thank you!

What's coming from your heart must always be a valuable thing. No matter how your game would be perceived by your audience (though I'm sure there are people who will love it), just remember that your work is honest and great and keep it on like that! 😊
