Really fun idea, and I absolutely love the interface, it looks just like a real pixel art software!
Thanks, glad you enjoyed! The interface is based on pixilart.com and I'm happy we managed to recreate a simpler version of it that still looks the part.
I enjoyed this - nice brain puzzle without too much pressure :D. I didn't originally realise that it would automatically switch to erasing when going to the pink squares and was trying to select it on the side, but after that it was good fun to work out the best approach. Would imagine this would be even more fun and challenging if you add in other colours/tools into the mix :D
Thanks for the kind words, we're happy to hear you enjoyed the game! And yup, we are working on updating the game to include colours and tools to make it even better!
Lovely Idea and music!
Sadly i could not figure out the tools and if they are even useable and was stumped with the smiley level.
After a few rounds im guessing the pink has nothing to do with having to paint that pink color.
Either way great idea and good execution, just need a bit more info about gameplay!
Ah sorry, the tools and colours are not available yet. The pink tiles are representing erasers, you can go over them once and then they'll disappear. They help you reach isolated tiles! We do understand that more info is needed based on feedback and we are working on making the game more easily understandable!
cool puzzle idea! I would maybe introduce the pink tiles earlier- or remove one or two of the very early levels, as I was about to quit because I thought the game had shown me everything it could do-
the pink tiles added that extra level of tactical thinking that I enjoy!
I also wasn't sure at first if there was a way to 'erase' marks, because when I drew outside the lines there was no prompt or indication that I'd failed the level I could see, but maybe I just missed it!
I had fun, and it was a chill little puzzler, liked the groovy BGM that added to the vibes of it. Well done!
Thank you! Yes, the game is in very early development and the two of us are still learning but thank you for the ideas. We are thinking of adding some text as 'guiding words' at the bottom of the screen in the future, as well as pop-ups to better explain the losing conditions, pink tiles and such! As for the repetitiveness of the starting levels, that is a good point and gives us some food for thought in how to make the game more engaging.
Love the idea! I didn't manage to figure out the smiley one though. I suggest you add a timer to make it more stressful or make it so you can't go over places you already drawn on to turn it into a puzzle game.
Thanks for your kind words and suggestions! For the smiley and levels after it, the pink tiles are 'one-use' tiles. Once you go over them, they disappear and if you go over them again, it'll be like inking the wrong tiles so = a reset. We'll try to update the game to add the use of the tools and colour picker first. Afterwards though, a timer does seem like a good idea for later levels!
Aw, thanks for the clarification. I am color blind, so I cannot see the pink tiles. Colorblind mode would be amazing, but note that the rules of the jam prevent us from adding any new features and only allow us to fix game breaking bugs. I wouldn't want you to get disqualified because of me, but I would be happy to play it again after the game jam ends!! 😄
Oh I see, we would definitely love to make our game accessible to as many people as possible but things do take time. We are trying to optimise the game as much as possible from the suggestions given by commentors like you so I think more accessibility features will come out in the future! Just to clarify, how would you want a colourblind mode to be implemented? And how are some ways we could help colourblind users when they play our game?
Very creative!
Thank you! :
