Thank you! Really happy you enjoyed the quirky theme and enemies :D!

It does get tricky towards the end but the final boss is hopefully worth it :)!

Thanks so much for the feedback! I'm glad you had fun playing :)!

We slowed down movement with the saxophone so it wouldn't be too overpowered compared to the other weapons, but that's good to know it doesn't feel great.

Gamepad is definitely easier to play with 😅, but we'll look at seeing if we can improve the single player keybinds!

Really like running around as a horse and seeing how you've put a horsey spin on different RPG tropes. I got a bit stuck after my first fight and didn't have much health or money, so thought 'what would a horse do' and was so happy when I struck gold at the pond :D!

Thank you so much for the kind feedback 😊!

Thank you very much! So glad you enjoyed playing our game 😁 Godot for the win 😆!

This is really impressive for a first game - well done! I really like the direction you took with the writing - it has a sort of nonchalant melancholy tone which feels quite different. The minimalist art style and sound effects also complement the writing nicely - it gives it a bit of a film noir feel :)

I have got 2 of the endings so far, and didn't see the twist of one of them coming! I'm going to try playing through some more to see if I can get the other endings :)

What a cool idea! The conversations you have are just enough to keep you intrigued about what you might find out next without giving too much away, all while being reminded that you'll probably never get there 😆

The way the ending has been done is also pretty neat!

Windows downloadable version now available :)!

Thank you :D! Yeah, I think it takes a bit too long to build up combos which makes it harder to experiment with the different abilities. Also would have been better to just restore health automatically after each battle to save on the backtracking :)

I really like what you did with the graphics for this - the cat and grass animations are a nice touch, and the CRT effect is very cool! The music also fit the meow theme nicely :D

Unlocking the different abilities is good fun, and I'm glad you could choose to unlock them in different orders. Funnily enough I actually quite like the floaty jump :)! I wonder if it  could be worth playing around with slowing down the left/right movement speed more when you have A held down as I felt like it didn't quite match or made it a bit harder to land in a specific spot (though could just as easily be me not being very good at platforming 😆)

Would love to play a longer version if you end up making one 😊

Thank you! I want to give yours a proper try this afternoon :D

Thanks! Yeah Halloween season brings around some cool jam themes :) Good luck with the midterms!

Yeah, I’m not aware of many western style ones either – I think people mostly think of games like Read Dead rather than turn based rpgs 😆

The horse sprites definitely made it! I had originally wanted to add proper animations for all of the different abilities, then realised how much time that would take (not to mention, probably wouldn’t have turned out that great), but maybe one day I’ll give it a go!

Ooooh exciting – fun to have some variety! I’m taking part in the Revival jam, working on more of a point and click style game for that :) Not quite sure yet what to do after, but feeling something RPGish again!

Thanks for taking the time to play the game :D! Yeah I've been wanting to play around with different takes on an RPG for a while, so glad to have given it a go. I was quite inspired by Live a Live for the setting as well so it's a bit of a game mash-up!

The horse animations are from this amazing asset pack 😊: https://onfe.itch.io/horse-sprite-with-rider-asset-pack

Oh amazing! Yeah, I love browsing Lospec palettes too, though I'm a programmer rather than artist so don't get very far with them 😆!

Will definitely keep an eye out for whatever you are working on next 😊

Nice!! I really like your take on the jam theme, especially touches like "Zeffir forgot to equip you with the pine" :D The art style and colour palette you've used are also very cool.

I imagine there'd be quite a few directions you could take this if you did pick it back up again in the future :)

Thanks for giving it a try and for the feedback 😊! The pacing relies quite heavily on unlocking moves quickly, but I am thinking of cutting down on how many turns it takes to build up combos so that it's easier to unlock those moves without having to play through at least 5 turns each time :). I do also want to add a way of seeing the actual stats for each ability in the game so it's easier to work out what the difference in speed/strength/crit. hit rate etc is but ran out of time before the jam deadline 😅

Thanks so much! As it's a jam submission I'm not sure I can post new builds right now, but once the rating period is over I will upload a desktop version :)

Thanks so much for playing, and for the feedback - I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Thank you for spotting the location freeze issue! It looks like I deleted one of the scenes in a moment of madness 🙈... I've now reuploaded with a fix :)

I'm in love with the particle effects in this 🤩! In combination with the sound effects, it makes the gameplay quite relaxing. The evolution to different shapes over time works well, with enough time in the beginning to get to grips with the general mechanics before the more hostile ones start appearing, and it's quite addictive to try to get to the next set of shapes :D

Thank you very much :D!

Haha, the dialogue and puzzle solutions caught me off guard - very funny :D! The art in this is really cool too - nice work!

Thank you :D! Yes, I definitely need to make some adjustments to make the difficulty more consistent :)

Thanks so much! Yes, that's a really good point, and I like that idea of having other targets behind you as an added incentive - thank you!

Nice! Initially I wondered if I should be able to move to more than just to the furthest left/right as the orbs were spawning somewhere between, but realised it's because you need to be able to move really quickly. I struggled sometimes to get out of the way fast enough, but when I did pull it off it felt very rewarding! Minor point, but I tried holding down A to give my finger a rest and while it didn't keep registering the hits, the sword animation carries on playing as if I were still hitting the tree. All in all a fun game :)!

Really clever way of using gameplay to re-enact the story! Having the different acts/chapters worked well to familiarise you with the environment before the combat starts. I liked the art style and character animations as well!

Cool art and music, and a fun premise - definitely gave off some haunted carnival vibes! I almost thought I was going to lose then got there on my last go :D

Thanks so much :D!

Thank you very much :D!

Thanks so much! Yes, you're right 🙈😂! I'm thinking also of making the enemy/projectile spawning a bit more sophisticated so that sections that have more blocks stacked up get a faster rate of projectiles which should help prevent isolated columns building up too far, and also make it easier to build new rows back up once they have been destroyed, as at the moment it can feel a bit of a wasted effort as they get broken up so quickly :)

I enjoyed this - nice brain puzzle without too much pressure :D. I didn't originally realise that it would automatically switch to erasing when going to the pink squares and was trying to select it on the side, but after that it was good fun to work out the best approach. Would imagine this would be even more fun and challenging if you add in other colours/tools into the mix :D

Love the art style and humour in this - really cool :D (and definitely a relatable theme 😆)!

Amazing work! The tutorial was really clear, and the difficulty curve just right to balance getting to grips with the different products/recipes but keeping it interesting. Having a chance to restock/set up shop also takes some of the pressure off of having to get everything right first time and gives a nice break in the gameplay to recover between rounds. The art and music are also beautiful :D - so impressed!

Really interesting idea and a funny theme for the game! I struggled a bit to keep an eye on what each character wanted and make the hot dogs fast enough - maybe starting with fewer characters appearing at the beginning would help, though probably also me panic pressing buttons😆

Very cool looking game and feels really polished! I struggled a little with the earlier waves and wonder if spacing the enemies out slightly so they don't all descend on you at once could help, but had a great time playing it nonetheless. Nice idea that you access the upgrades outside of the main game so you can plan beforehand :D

A cool idea to mix the medieval/cyber themes together - love the change in music and visuals halfway through :D!

It's amazing how complete this game is! Nice that there are different enemy types, and the lighting, music and sound effects make it very atmospheric :D

Thanks for playing :D!

Thank you :D! Haha at least sometimes it works the other way to clear out mis-dropped blocks 😆
