I love that you have a README (maybe fill it out, and use the information from your submission page: https://fujiform2023.itch.io/trade-war), and License file (main criteria for open source category).

I like the graphics and sound effects (and the game music too). Interesting concept. I like that it's not just a simple "give stone to both and it's okay". There's some thinking involved which is good. Nice work.

Great concept and fun to play.

Unfortunately, I couldn't figure out how to play. I would love to give it another shot if you could explain the goal/tutorial in the comments though :)

The game is quite esoteric (it’s hard to know what impacts a resource will have, how much a resource is worth is not displayed, there’s no tutorial) so I was not very sure on what exactly I was supposed to do.

I do however like the game concept of manipulating 2 kingdoms to fight against each other for economic benefit, it’s exactly the kind of thing that would happen in the middle ages, and you fit the theme quite well and the art of the thumbs-up knight is good.

There is a softlock possible, if you end up with 1 “point” left to spend on a trade, but you’ve ran out of Wood and Stone, you cannot trade anything because the iron and gold can only be traded with more than 1 “point” and thus cannot activate the next war cycle.

Overall a good interactive game though the objective of trading is not clear. Maybe starting this off with a tutorial would help!

I like the idea, one nit picky fix id suggest is increasing the resolution on the Itch.io page for it so its the full screen height, the numbers for resources were only visible in fullscreen for me (ultrawide monitor problems maybe?)

I don't quite understand what trading the different resources with one or the other kingdom actually does, can you explain it to me please?
