Nice game here, it's entertaining for sure. The grapple was a little tough to work with a bit but I like the concept. It'd probably help if you mention that you grapple onto previous robots more directly, you hint at it a bit but it's a little vague in that sense. This is a solid entry do have made by yourself though, well done with that!

I loved the use of the theme! Using your past "lives" to get you through the level is neat! I wish grappling was a little more fun (I was expecting big swings!) but overall, this was a really fun concept!

This game has potential but it all feels a little off to be lots of fun at the moment. I was looking forward to swinging about but it never really felt nice to grapple and I expected to grapple everything but it being limited kinda put me off trying to deeply. Lots of good ingredients, but it needs more refinement to be really fun. Nice art work

As other comments said, the movement is a bit stiff, but the game is nice.

I liked the art style and the grapple mechanic, also if it wasn't so clear where it's possible to grapple at the beginning.

Another promising take on the "every literal life lost counts towards making the level easier" gimmick, though I found the movement to be a little too stiff and twitchy; sometimes a double jump wouldn't execute or my robot would move or jump too fast for my liking.

The grapple system sounds cool but it took me a while to figure out that my robot could only grapple onto other previous robots that I'd destroyed before. Also, it seems highly dependent on how much sideways inertia the player put in before deploying the grapple with no way to increase momentum or lengthen the grapple itself to make for a more comfortable jump.

My advice if you want to expand this (and it does seem prime for expansion) is make the overall movement speed slower and less slippery, provide less mid-air control so players are forced to commit to a jump when they make it and if you want to stick to the retro aesthetic, give the player a limited life count so they can't brute force their way through or accidentally soft-lock themselves and finally, take a look at how Bionic Commando tries its grapple system (or even Donkey Kong Country with the vines); fixed arc, fixed length and fixed swing speed allowing for precision player timing.

The presentation was neat and complimented the cute scenario of a tiny grapple robot. I struggled to grasp the mechanics though. I understand you have to sacrifice your robot to create platforms, but reaching the higher platforms was a different story. The grapple mechanic didn't feel very intuitive, so I had to do a lot of trial and error with jumping to maneuver through the level, which i don't think was the creator's intent.

I think if the platforming mechanics were refined further, I would've enjoyed this more. I understand being a solo dev in game jams is difficult however, so I respect the dedication to making a complete demo!

Great entry:) I really enjoyed the game, even though the grapple was a bit stiff at times. I would really love to play more levels!

Great game, liked the art and gameplay. However there's a bug where you can't grapple. Overall, the game's great. If you don't mind, could you check out and rate my game?
