I really liked the theme of this game.  I had a hard time jumping to some of the platforms, probably beause I am not the best at platformers.  I really liked the laid back aesthetic.  Enjoyed playing!

Great interpenetration of the theme.  The visuals and sound are very well done especially when swapping between the game play states. The way you start and end the game is also very smooth! Great job!

I had issues with the way my character jumped especially when moving toward a ledge.  Another member mentioned Coyote Time this video helps explain the idea.

The last section was very difficult for me and made me realize i was trying to memorize a pattern i'm not sure about how that resonates with me but overall i enjoyed your game thanks for making it!

Gameplay:

It's a really good mechanic and I had a lot of fun with that dimention swifting, however I felt that movement was a bit irresponsive so it led me to a lot of deaths.

Graphics:

Graphics are really good (if you did them by yourself then great job), tho the robot doesn't suit it a bit, maybe it would be better to make a character like in Limbo, so something more simplistic. And for gems it's not a good idea to mix pixelart with vector graphics like trees. Also you could work on some transitions at the beginning of the game, so that changing scene looks a bit more fluent. Anyway, good job ;)

Audio:

I really like music and idea with changing music style while changing dimension is really good. But there was also lack of transition between those tracks. Maybe it would be better to make them a bit more similiar to each other or make the same track with 2 different variants so that when you switch dimentions you don't get that feeling that something is off.

Innovation:

Really creative idea ;) I also liked the level design and some creative moves you made there. Good job.

Theme:

I kinda gets what you wanted to show my your interpretation of the theme. Not bad, tho it took me a while to notice how it refers.

Great job overall ;)

Really nice mechanics and puzzle execution. The shift in soundtrack (when you shift between platforms) is also nice and well-executed.

Some feedback:

  • I've found a bug: sometimes, when pressing SHIFT, you immediately die and are reset to the last checkpoint.
  • Have you ever heard of "coyote time"? Basically, it means that you still allow a player to jump, even if he's at the edge of the platform (or slightly over the edge). I've failed stages twenty times because I pressed jump when I was near the edge of the platform, but the game thought I was already falling off, so I died.  To be honest, became quite frustrating after a while :p (Another solution would be to make the player walk slower, so there's more room for error when pressing JUMP. Not my preferred solution.)
  • Some sort of menu/way to quit the game would be nice. (Now I had to pull tricks to force quit the game.)
  • One of the first puzzles (the one with the gem up high and the platform that moves upwards) could use a checkpoint halfway, or be slightly less difficult. It was a great puzzle/challenge, but maybe better suited later in the game.

Besides that, great game and great gameplay!

The platform shifting is a nice idea and adds some new fresh to a very used genre such as 2D platformer.

Really enjoyed the parallax background and overall atmosphere.
