I really enjoyed this little mise en bouche. The game clearly has potential and I can't wait to see what you people are going to do with it ;)

It was all around fun to play, though I found it a bit annoying to see so little. I felt it was missing a few checkpoints. The player character was well animated and felt good to play, a shame I didn't have to use the shovel that much. I loved the idea of just throwwing your cat around.
I second the comments about the missing checkpoints - that one flying enemy caught me by surprise and made me do the level again, which was kind of mean. That's really my biggest complaint, though; the game is quite well-executed.
Well polished, got some great "Dwarf Fortress" vibes from the 1-bit environment.
It'd be nice to have a bit more checkpoints, it seems that some levels are pretty long, and when you die at the end you need to go back from the beginning.
Overall, pretty good game.
