Wow amazing game, some mechanics reminded me of Celeste. Clever level design.

I'm very impressed and could definitely see myself playing again.

Amazing game and very well put together. I love the way the dart traps were used in level 5, and the levels were well designed in general. The only critique I could give is that the player movement doesn't feel perfectly fluid, but it's still really good. I look forward to the sequel.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback I'm glad you enjoyed!

Love the story, love the name, gameplay is decent but could be refined a bit and become a lot more fun, art ranges from pretty good to not bad, but not good, music gets obnoxious fast, and thats really all I have to say. It was pretty good.

Developer

thanks for the feedback! Which art did you like the least?

The weird spike ball things I would have to say, they always felt janky both in sprite and how that sprite related to its hitbox. Id say they were the only object sprite wise that made it slightly more difficult to tell if you’d get hit or not. Though the hitbox feels forgiving, so I’m grateful for that.

Developer

ok fair enough I prob should have just made like 6 rotation frames instead of just rotating the object lol. I'm guessing the sprite was like one pixel shifted up so it was hard to tell where the hitbox was

I like it!

Man this was fun, it reminds me of old flash games I used to play. Double jump mechanic is well executed. Level design fits mechanics well and is the right amount of difficulty. Could use more fishiness apart from the story and the character. I will say, and I mean this in the nicest way possible but level 2 music I had to turn down the volume it just is not good to listen to lol very dissonant and random note placement-sounding. Loved the ending.

Developer

Yeah I probably should have just bought some royalty free music lol. Thanks for the feedback!

Great game, very nice and progressive difficulty. However small bug when you exceed 100 deaths it resets to 0 deaths)

Developer(+1)

yeah, I realized that after I posted it and just hoped that no one died 100 times since I am unable to change that unity project because I somehow  broke it lol.

Overall a very good game. I really liked the double jump mechanic, specifically having ammo powerups as a means of traversal. very fun and clever.

I found the game hard which is why i also liked how the progress you made (opening doors and destroying toxic spheres) didn’t reset. it felt like i was making progress and making the next attempt easier on myself. All at which took the sting out of dying all of those times haha.

o and I always appreciate a good junji ito reference.

if i could change anything it would probably be the timing of the platforms. i dont know if its intended or not but when i died i just wanted to get back into the action but found myself waiting for the platforms to rematerialize.

anyway great job. it was a lot of fun.

Developer(+1)

thanks for the feedback! yeah I real liked for it turned out with the challenge decreasing each time you attempt it!

Me when I have no idea what junji is: "Yup!" lol

yeah I have to say the timed platforms were probably the thing I liked least. looking back I could have at least made a button that starts the sequence of platforms.

o haha oops, i just assumed.  junji ito is a horror manga artist. the end of your game was reminiscent of one of his stories. "Gyo" i think is the name. you should check it out if your into that kind of stuff (horror, manga).

o also i just realized, we both used a goldfish as our main character. goldfish devs for the win baby!

hahha have a good night.

Developer

Oh ok ill check it out! I think i had heard the full name before so its gotta be good since I barely read any manga lol

Great game! The mechanics were quite fun and the gameplay was quite enjoyable! The difficulty is appropriate and I feel provides a good amount of challenge. I also quite liked the ending! I look forward to the invasion lol

Thanks for the feedback! hopefully I find another fishy jam for the sequel.... :)

This game is awesome! Really enjoyed the gameplay and the double jump mechanic. It was very fun to double jump multiple times by collecting the ammo. Very well done!

Developer

thanks for the feedback! I got the idea for the mid air reload from Celeste’s dash mechanic (although I’ve never played the game I’ve seen people play it and I think that’s how it works lol)

Love the idea to use the gun as a double jump! Really nice artwork and overall very polished and solid design. Music felt a little bit chaotic, but the sound fx were good! I appreciate the nicely designed obstacles and frequent checkpoints to make it a fun challenge without being too frustrating having to repeat the obstacles you've already cleared. Nice work!

Developer

yeah I got the idea from a Minecraft server with gun I played like 6 years ago where the shotguns had crazy recoil! Ok I’ll keep in mind to slow down the music in future games! Thanks for the feedback!

I really like the pixel art graphics. The game was fun to play!

Developer

thanks for the feedback!

Liked this game and overall design, but maybe more "fishiness" could be added. All in all  nice game

Developer

true I will say it could have use some more fish but u couldnt think of a place to add more

Maybe like aquarium instead for the tileset or maybe instead of shotgun make the fish "spit water"... idk lol

Developer

yeah true I just liked the idea of a fish brooding up a nuclear power plant lol. What I prob could have done was make more fish based abilities for the player!

I loved every single part about this game, only problem is that in the credits you for got to put me as #1 fan

Developer

oh right mb mb if I have a credits sequence in my next game I’ll add you :)

Nice Game !

This games makes me feel like Celeste but you're a fish and you have a shotgun !

control are ok even tho I found the jump a bit to powerfull and hard to use, the shotgun double jump was very nice tho.

graphics are very cool and discorvering a new mecanics at each level make the progression very smooth.

Thanks for the game !

Developer

Thanks for the feedback ill def slow down jumps in future. if I may ask what was your favorite and least favorite mechanic? i want to get better at making stuff like that since I have not a lot of experience (seeing as this is my first game lol)
