  • Fantastic job! The art and the presentation were great. The game was also really fun as well, and despite being simple I was able to do multiple runs and still have a good time. Any critiques I have are really just small things. I think it would be good if the fire gave some kind of indication it was going to attack: shrinking slightly or making a noise for instance. I got hit a few times because I was going to deposit a goat and got hit by a fireball I couldn't see coming. Some way to get a better sense what was behind the trees would also be good. Maybe a partial transparency or glow around objects or something. I did occasionally get hit by enemies I couldn't see behind trees and bushes which didn't feel fair. Overall though, great job!
  • I like the visual presentation. The newpaper theme and all. Had a bit of issues with the gameplay, I don't really really see any reason to not pick up a goat, so having to click it feel a bit tedious since it's a bit vague what is the interaction range, so you just mash, relativly the same for sending them in the fire. Later you can kill those cop dudes so I guess I understand the reason to click, but it's weird to be able to click out of range and send them just short from hitting the fire. My biggest issue comes with the fire attacks, they seem random and have 0 signaling, so they are just shot at you and one attack is dodged a certain way while another one another way, it feels like dodging them is mostly luck, I did worse on my last run than in my first one just because I was unlucky. The visuals were great, the game felt polished.

Really fun polished game! The art is fantastic the amount of variation in enemies/attacks is really nice. The whole occult theme in general is really interesting to me.

I got to ask, did you use something like a tilemap to make the brick/rock paths because I can see some repeating patterns, but I can't really see where tiles start and end.

I did use a tilemap for the brick pattern yeah, however I made sure to make sure that you can't see the tiled edges as I wanted it to look natural. Thank you for the feedback :)

Presentation was basically perfect, and I love the gameplay on paper, but I wasn't able to get past around 14 goats even on repeat tries. Things seem to get hectic a bit too fast; I'm not sure if projectiles coming out of the fire was necessary, at least that early on, since I feel like the authorities being on your tail would heighten the tension enough. In addition, the goats' behavior already makes it a bit tricky to lead them into the fire, and having stuff coming out of the fire makes that even more difficult. I feel like I shouldn't be this critical because this is still a very polished and well-made game; I just didn't gel with the design as much as I hoped.

I completely understand your opinion, I could have definitely made the projectiles get more hectic over a longer period of time, however as I was making it I got used to it going quicker, and I thought if it started off slower, however after playing it after it is completed and with the feedback you have gave, it would've been beneficial to slow the pacing down, having you think that the game would've just been fine with the police is a big error on my part as they were meant to be support for the main mechanic of the fire 😅, and it getting more dangerous and shooting more projectiles as it got bigger.

Thank you for your feedback :)

I  hoped that was the case! great job! I also really enjoyed your entire game's aesthetic, the newspaper idea and tying it to an actual event was a great choice!

Thank you! My idea started with just the fire and then I slowly realised it would be perfect to tie to the even
