Rock solid platform movement, awesome cutscene, great art and animations, innovative mechanics and you even managed to add a freaking leaderboard?! Super impressive! As others pointed out, the main aspect of the game that needs attention is the difficulty spike. The core mechanic translates to a less “natural” platformer movement control, so it takes a while for the player to internalize the physics. Polishing the collisions would also make the experience more fluid (the game would greatly benefit from a more forgiving “coyote jump”) — which is very important as this is clearly designed to be a speedrunner playground. Great job!

Marvelous game! I don't play much platformer games, but this is quite nice. Unfortunately I am very bad, and I struggled to reach the dragonfly every time so in the end I gave up!
It feels like a polished game, the intro is nice and bring you to the action straight away while you think you are still watching it. Nice!
Also, nice twist of the theme with the play of the words ;-)
Well done!
Thanks for playing and for the feedback! I've recently made a video if you want to see what's past that dragonfly. Here's the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=stcF5wvGyt4
This game looks amazing! I especially love the cutscene—it really add to the experience. The controls feel great, and I had a lot of fun with the gliding and the turning into a statue mechanic, especially when you can bounce off things. It’s a clever and enjoyable feature!
However, I’m currently stuck on the dragonfly. I initially thought I could simply glide to it and jump but it seems out of reach a lot of the time when i try. After some trial and error, I figured out that turning into a statue on top of it could help me use it as a platform, but it took me a while to realize that. I had to go back and redo parts, which was a bit frustrating.
It might help if the dragonfly was introduced earlier in the game, without the lava, so players could get used to the idea of interacting with it as a platform. Overall, though, the game is designed really well, and I just wish I was better at it! Keep up the great work!
Thanks for sharing such detailed feedback! It’s certainly helped me think of how to make the level design better. Also, I’m glad you enjoyed the cutscene and the game mechanics :) I've recently made a video if you want to see what's past that dragonfly: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=stcF5wvGyt4
Great entry! Plays nicely and everything comes together really well. I agree with my buddy Ressurected Studio that the game becomes difficult fast. I must shamefully admit that I ragequit early on, because I couldn't get further than the third screen with the 2 floating lavaballs on the right. I'm bad at skill-based games. Another tip I want to give you as a designer/artist is: you can tell the art is mixed together. The title screen looks impressive and grim, but it doesn't fit the colorful gameplay graphics. Maybe next time you could bring the two closer together by applying a color filter to the assets to make it fit your game world. A bit less saturation and color filters on the gameplay graphics would have made it more fitting. But that's my opinion.
Congrats on finishing the entry though. Always an achievement to finish a game jam!
This game looks amazing, especially the intro—I totally didn’t expect to play as a gargoyle bat right off the bat! I have to admit, I’m missing the “hard choice” theme, but other than that, it’s a fantastic experience. One tip: consider making it a bit easier early on so jam players can feel successful sooner—it felt like a bit of a grind to get better. Then again, maybe my gaming skills are just lacking!
Absolute fun. Intro was amazing. Graphics and audio are well done . I just had to do Prangles dirty and swap to other pc with normal keyboard to set a record. 10/10 Sorry mate :) Splash screen should be more like in-game graphics.
An interesting game, the visuals and sound are excellent, but it seems to me that the game does not quite correspond to the theme)
Thanks for playing and I appreciate the feedback. I understand where you're coming from with the theme as most people went with a moral dilemma interpretation. For my game I wanted to explore the ‘tough choice’ theme more literally so the player can choose to transform into a tough material like stone that can’t move or soft flesh that enables movement
you killed it with this one, and oh bot the cutscene is just superb! GG!
