I loved this game!

The graphics were great as was the music and sound effects.

I especially loved that you included difficulty levels (easy was hard enough for me, but satisfying when I beat multiple levels on it).  I did notice one small bug: Donatello, died the first two times, but then survived the third, yet at the end it said I had saved him 0 times.  Not a big deal - I just wanted you to know.

The story at the beginning was awesome - I just wish it was more integrated into the game and kept moving forward with the fun gameplay.

Overall, excellent!

First, I love to see other C3 Programmers in the Jam!

Second: This was one of my favorite platformers from round 1.  Normally, I'm pretty terrible at them, but I think I did alright here - your jumping/speed mechanics are great.

My only issue would be the round 2 requirements (story, projectiles, and animal) all feel secondary in this version.  I think if you could integrate them more throughout the gameplay it would help with scoring.

Still, I really enjoyed playing this, especially being chased by the lava.  Well done.

First, I love the look of the game.  I watched your making of video and I'm so impressed with your graphic talent (I have none of it).

Second, I thought the difficulty was perfect.  It too me three tries, but I finally beat the level.  It all felt very polished and bug free.

Third, great use of projectiles and animals.  Well, thought out.

If I had any complaints it would be about the story.  It felt sort of tacked on at the beginning and then the actual game didn't seem to advance it at all.   I think if you could integrate more of a story with more level going forward it would be fantastic.

Still, I really liked this game a lot.  Very well done.

Wow!

So impressive to do all that without words.  Loved the look of it and the storytelling was great.  If I'm being picky, I wish the gameplay with the ball was a little more fun/challenging in some way (felt more like a game).

Still, phenomenal work!

Spoiler Warning: I did not see that end coming.  You broke my heart.  So many memories.

I switched to Chrome (on my Apple laptop) and can now upload fine.  But, the same upload attempt through Safari fails.  Very strange, since I always used Safari in the past (even just three days ago).  I have no idea what changed.  But, at least I can upload again.

(1 edit)

I am in the second round of a game jam (20 hours left).  I have been exporting and uploading my game from Construct 3 as an HTML 5 Zip without any issues for days.  But suddenly today, it fails every time with the error message: "There was a problem completing your upload."

I have tried creating a brand new project page and even creating a new one page project (for testing).  But, whatever I upload gets the error message right away.  There are no details on why it's erroring out.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can do to fix this?

EDIT: After more testing I was able to upload the same export file from a PC (I normally work on an Apple Laptop with Safari), so the problem seems to lie there.

Thanks so much!

This was my first Jam and "PEMDAS" was my first game.

Thank you all for the great experience, feedback, and suggestions.  I'm proud of coming in 12th place and I"m excited to get back to work improving the game.

I'll definitely return next year!

Thanks so much for the detailed review.  We definitely need to work on difficulty going forward.: I think we will limit specials to 3 and force formulas to be used for all numbers.  "R" currently resets the attack and defend rows (but we buried that in our documentation - which also needs an overhaul).  Anyway, thanks again for playing and for the great suggestions.

I love first person shooters.   I'm impressed you were able to create a prototype in two weeks.  Very tough to control the mouse in this game.  I hope you get a chance to expand upon it.

I love these kind of games.  I think you have the beginnings of a good, but rough prototype here.  I hope you get a chance to expand upon it further.

Love the look of this game - the duck and the trail he/she leaves behind.  I'm pretty terrible at precision jumping, so I wish this started off a bit easier.  But, overall, I thought you did a good job with this platformer.

I'm normally pretty terrible at games like this.  But this was some of the best implemented wall-jumping I've seen and your tutorial and check-points were both incredibly helpful.  Well done!

I'm not sure what's happening here.  I just had a talking scene that went on for a long time.  Then it said play, I picked day 1 and it started all over again.  Then, I picked day 2 and a new talking scene began.  I never really got to any gameplay.  Maybe, I just needed to wait longer.

This game was so simple and yet, so darn addictively fun.  I just kept playing it and trying to do better.  Great game.  I hope you get to move on and work on it further.

Interesting take on Frogger - a favorite of mine from back in the day.   Good job capturing that old look and feel.  Quick note: this didn't work on my Apple laptop with Safari, I had to use Chrome.

Cool game.  I love the look of it and the way you work with light.  It's amazing how much darkness makes me feel nervous in a game (in a good way).  Looking forward to what you do with this.

Solid platformer with great animation - loved the combat.  Quick note: wouldn't run on my Apple laptop with Safari, had to use Chrome to get it to work.  Great game - I hope you get to continue it.

There are a lot of QOL improvements (and suggestions from these comments) that I'm excited to make.  We actually have a key to replace all the dice now, "R", but it's buried in our terrible "Operations Manual" - that is the first thing I have to fix.  Anyway, thanks for playing and for the suggestions.

Thanks for playing, I'm so glad you liked it.

Great title.  I'm impressed with how much you got into this game.  I would love a tutorial to get me started (my game should have on too).  But, overall this was fun and nicely polished for a prototype.

I absolutely loved this game!  Dice rolling is my jam (see my game).  This was so much fun.  I just want more.  Perfect score!

Really impressed with how much you got into this game.  Starting with an easy to follow tutorial - I wish more games had that (mine included).  This was challenging, but fair and I really liked the upgrade system.  Very well done.

Really fun prototype for a game.  The duck is adorable.  I hope you get a chance to keep working on this - I would love to see what challenges the duck is up against,

Thank you so much for the encouragement.  I'm super-excited to get back to work on it and implement everybody's awesome suggestions!

Thanks a lot!  I'm glad you enjoyed it.

So happy you liked it!  I will definitely be continuing it and adding a lot to it, including easy dice switching.  Thanks a lot for playing and  making suggestions.

Thanks for play and thanks for the suggestion.  I would love to add difficulty levels going forward and implement your suggestions that way.

Thanks for the awesome review and for the great suggestions.  I'm excited to get back to work on it and implement those changes.

I love puzzle games and thought I would love this, but it's just so hard and cryptic, right from the start.  I think you really need to start easier and let us learn and get better as we go.  Or it might just be that I am dumb. :)

Love the look of this little guy.  I wish I was better at wall-jumping - I'm terrible - so it made it hard to progress.  Still, I think this game has some promise and I hope you get to continue it.

Seriously, brilliant idea for a typing game.  It just needs to start so much easier, as my typing sucks.  Still, I had a lot of fun trying this and I hope you get to continue it (and add an easy mode).

Clever use of mechanics.  I like how hitting A and D created a rhythm, like a train on tracks.  I'm afraid I wasn't very good at this game, but I still enjoyed it.

Love the look of this platformer.  Unfortunately, I am terrible at platformers and just kept dying.  I wish it was easier at the start or had an easy mode.  Still, I thought your mechanics were good and I wish you the best with it.

This was a fun and original idea for a game.  I liked using the leaf blower and I especially liked the way it kept me up in the air.  Also impressed you have a city map and a store/upgrade system.  Very impressive for two weeks.

This game took me back to the kind of games I played in my youth.  The game is very clever and funny.  I enjoyed the turn based combat.  I hope you get a chance to build upon this.

Wow!  I can't believe you were able to create a 3d World with planting, growing, and economic system.   It was all so polished and professional.  I wish there were more challenges to achieve, but this is an AMAZING start.  Really well done!

I am terrible at this game, but that didn't stop me from enjoying it.  Love the animations and sounds.  I wish it was a little easier at the beginning - those herons got me every time.  Still, this was fun, while I lasted.

You have so much packed into this game.  I was having fun shooting things and then suddenly it's like there is a whole other game going on back on the planet.  I'm not usually a huge fan of farming type games, but this was impressive.

This was fantastic!  Easily one of my favorites.  Loved the mechanics.  Shooting the arrows felt great and that is an awesome start to the skill tree.  I just need shift to let me run and then you need a lot more levels!  This is a winner and I hope you keep working on it.
