Judge feedback

Judge feedback is anonymous and shown in a random order.

  • I think there might be an error in the way the isometric tiling is set up with the movement because it was very difficult to calculate jumps and the controls felt off to me as a result.
  • It's Spleef from Minecraft no way!! Haha, jokes aside, I enjoyed it. Music felt a bit disconnected from the experience, could've fit the vibe better, and more variety among levels would be nice even with colors and simple design! Good work.
  • I like the concept behind the game and the art style was really nice. I think the controls could have used a little tweaking to make the game feel more responsive. But other than that, nice job!

Jam Judge

Hi, I'm hedge one of your judges! Played at https://twitch.tv/hedge_in at 8:16:22 <3 (Part 2)

The concept is interesting, and the isometric art is very nice, but I think it's a bit difficult to calculate the jumps correctly, and the colliders seem to be very tight to the floor tiles, making it very easy to fall. Also, the perspective with the enemy projectiles makes it very difficult to dodge them, or maybe they're their colliders too.

Still, it's a great job! :D

Bro, what kind of rap is that?)

With music, of course, you didn't guess, it's very similar to lyrical rap, for example oxxxymiron.

Well, the controls are a bit heavy, at first it seemed to me that the platforms were being removed very quickly, but then I realized that there was actually a sufficient delay.

The concept is really interesting, and the art style gives me so much nostalgia! The visibility a bit suffers because of the view point, sometimes you fall through the holes that you didn't even know were there - however, the game is still really pleasant!

Great stuff, but there were a lot of falls that didn't feel earned, like the hole was hidden by a block, or a projectile that kept pushing me after already hitting me once. Also, the fact that diagonal movement doesn't align with the grid 100% threw me off several times.

Really awesome game! Straight to the point and thats what I like!

This is awesome. The hitboxes need some work. Or maybe more depth to the projectiles. Great work regardless. I hope you update in the future.

Developer

thanks, yeah the hitboxes make the game feel a little unfair

Very solid game, its fun! Never played an iso platforming challenge and I think its a wonderful idea. Though ,assuming the shadow is the actual hitbox of the character, I would wish it to be a bit more lenient. Diagonal movement is something to get used to and if you mistep you die so I think making it a bit easier would be great. Also I love the eyes! Play a part in my game too lol

Developer

Thanks for the feedback, ill check out your game for sure

This is a really cool game, pretty straightforward and snappy. I like the art. I wish the diagonal movement aligned with the tiles though.

Submitted(+1)

very fun and effective mix of mechanics! i like your interpretation of the theme as well!

Developer

thanks

Submitted(+1)

Revisiting this because it is definitely one of my favorites. The gameplay is satisfying. The level design, music and art style are all well done.

I also think the coyote time would have been good lol, got to lvl 5, good interpretation also.

Submitted(+1)

Fun game, i like the falling tiles idea for theme interpretion.

Submitted(+1)

This requires way more skill than I have, but I enjoyed failing at it anyway :D

Developer

thanks for playing

Submitted(+2)

Very fun! I like this could use coyote time though lol I am raging

Developer(+1)

that's a good idea, i didn't even think of it, thanks
