A really solid entry! And nice to see someone using BulletFury ;) I'd love some feedback on that if you've got some time!

Your game is a nice, polished little experience. I'm not actually all that great at shmups myself, so dying and having to do the tutorial again sucked - maybe you could use playerprefs to store whether or not the user has finished the tutorial?

You also really need some hit effects on the enemies - a white flash will do :P but it didn't feel like I was doing any damage to anything!

I think the art is absolutely spot on for a jam. Maybe a little bit of post processing (read: bloom) would make those white bullets pop - and maybe a couple of different bullet shapes and/or would go a long way too - that helps players pick out the different patterns. But those are really minor nitpicks! Overall it was a great little game and you should definitely be pleased with what you've done :)

Hello there, Thanks for playing our game!

"I'd love some feedback on that if you've got some time!sure!

"maybe you could use playerprefs to store whether or not the user has finished the tutorial?" This will likely be a thing in the post dev version

"You also really need some hit effects on the enemies - a white flash will do :P but it didn't feel like I was doing any damage to anything!" we were low on time so couldn't really add effects but it'll likely be added to the post jam build

"and maybe a couple of different bullet shapes and/or would go a long way tooThis was originally indended but got cut out due to collision size problems unfortunately

"you should definitely be pleased with what you've done :)"  Thank you!

There's a story going on! The characters are likable, and so is the art. It'd be great if the protagonist's equipment was visible in her sprite, though. I have a... thing for that. Otherwise, one little thing -- the audio is too quiet! Perhaps my desktop was too noisy, but for the first playthrough I didn't even notice that there were any music or sound effects. Make sure you check your mixes at low volume as well!

I will make sure to check this next time, thanks for the feedback!

Hello! artist here.
Thanks for playing and reviewing the game ^^
I did plan to make more than one sprites and character portraits for each characters but the time is simply not enough for me.
If the game and poll did well enough, I'm planning to remaster the whole art for the game.

Oh and also, I get that "thing" you meant
;)

Again, thank you for playing our game, really appreciate your feedbacks!

This game reminds me of the Touhou series lol. Which isn't a bad thing, those games are excellent in their own right. I like the story going on here, and the bullet patterns are super creative and varied. The dodging in the game is super fun as well, so nice job on that.

To me it seems like you spent a lot of time trying to make cool bullet patterns but then ran out of time for the smaller but necessary components, like a health bar or some visual indicators. There should be a sound effect for when you get hit as well as a health bar, as right now it's impossible to tell how much health I have. There should also be some checkpoints, as starting over at the beginning repeatedly can get really annoying. Finally, it feels like the enemies take too long to kill, especially early on, so I'd reduce their health points.

Overall, great work! I had fun playing it.

Hi, thanks for the feedback! Yes, a lot of time got eaten by the patterns and the enemy/dialogue logic so I couldn't really find the time to implement any ui and sound effects

I will keep the checkpoint/enemy hp thing in mind, thanks for playing our game!

Is that a fan game or the character origin? I like the art of it!

The game is easy to get into but the tutorial might be a little too long, especially if you die and need to restart the tutorial again. the Shift key is not clear at first, I thought it would slow down the whole game then I realize it only slows down the movement, maybe add some effect around the character to explain that?

I can't see a hp bar for me.. or did I miss it?

I'm a bad bullet hell gamer so I haven't experienced more of the game. If the tutorial part can be skipped I'd like to try more times!

Hi, thanks for playing our game!

You can skip the dialogue using escape (start on a controller)!

And due to time constraints I didn't have time to implement the hp bar so you didn't miss it

Hello! Thanks for playing the game ^^
It's an original character I make for the game, glad you liked it.
About the slowing down movement effects, That's a really good idea! it never crossed my mind. Thanks for that.
Yes, you can skip the dialogue by pressing "Esc" during the conversation.
