Dang, this game is polished!

I liked the idea of it, but my main complaint is that it's hard to read the battlefield at a glance.  Since each buddy had its own color scheme, I was having trouble telling friend from foe.

I liked the variety of buddies to summon.  At some point it wouldn't let me use cards for two turns.  Was that something the enemy used?

Good job on the whole!  It's really solid!

My normal comment is below. This is a feedback comment.

As you guys are on game-dev level 1 trillion you might want some feedback. If you are interested in player feedback at such an early stage on a jam game. Here are some:

Make it easier to recognize which characters are yours and theirs. There was about 16 or 20 of them on screen and we only knew which ones were ours and theirs if they were holding snuppies. Lost track of all the others. Look at how other games do it, same skin color maybe, color circles under their feet, there are a few solutions. Hair and lion cloth color change only I think would be too small to notice instantly.

The game session/battle feels too long. If there was more enemies (the guy on the fly) in a tournament style then the game session could be reduced as there would be more battles.

2 player local play.

How did you guys pull that off?! Amazing. You must have the most efficient team in indie and Triple-A history. When my wife played it, she didn't even know I left the house to get takeaway food, and I told her I was going. The color pallet is fantastic. Very cute characters. Only super devs can program and create that quickly with such quality. Love  that it's a  thinking-action game.

Sooooo cheating to make something this good at your own contest. You could have at least broken 1 finger each, or programmed entirely on macs in text edit, or painted watercolors underwater or something...

That's all to say... great job.

WOW! You guys pump out some incredible games! Very entertaining, I like the crazy world you've created here. Obviously, it's really polished (honestly, it could go on the appstore right now!) but the game not only looks good, it plays great too. I love the concept- very unique and of course has your signature charm. Tons of fun with room for some long satisfying rounds of battle. You can always tell a Butterscotch Shenanigans game- the artstyle and overall personality of your games are one-of-a-kind,  and when you see it, know you're always in for a good time.
Great work!!!

P.s. I hope you don't think I'm just buttering (get it?! Butter-scotch) you guys up... I really did love the game!

After a while if you save up pills, if you pull a Double Pills, you've basically got infinite money. Also AI isn't very good (misses with hammer, uses cards when they could've saved them, etc). Online has lots of bugs. Amazing game, though, very polished, impressive for a 50-hour gamejamgame. Keep up the work!

Had a good time playing online with an opponent! Super impressive that a gamejam game has Online MP!

Only critique would be that eventually you get so much currency that strategy doesn't matter and you can just buy everything and the game board becomes messy.

Thanks for putting on this amazing jam!
