It was a fun game with a neat idea. I liked the upgrades and the game play. The graphics were good too.

Looks more like a submission for a 3-day jam, not a week-long jam. But overall a simple game that's even a bit fun. Controls aren't very responsive. And there seems to be a bug - if a monster reaches the left edge while you're shooting at it, you stop dealing damage to that monster and have to move to another lane, come back, and shoot again. Also the upgrades are totally visible for me.

Great idea! I thought the idea and art was great. Here is my feedback:

  1. As others have mentioned, I didn't know you could upgrade because it was never called to my attention. Making this more obvious would help
  2. I simply held down the space bar and never let go to have an endless beam of damage. Having some kind of counter-measure here would be great... like a cool-down on the light or a special enemy that is designed to encourage you to stop blasting light in order for them to become vulnerable.
  3. I got to a point where my speed and damage where too high and creatures would die the moment they touched my light. I was too powerful!
  4. Upgrades should be more expensive after each purchase in order to pace things out a bit.

All-in-all, great work and fun game :)

I did the same, but when I tried to play without having the Space-bar held things went really south, as you need to wait for the walk animation to end before attacking.

Good idea and art! . Maybe the UI is not very intuitive and some mechanics doesn't work some times. Also i think it would be nice to add some background music.

I liked the mechanics of the game, but didn't realize I could upgrade my life and attack. I think having those things appear after each round would be helpful.

I won't lie game is a bit clunky its hard to shoot and move. But art is nice. There's some style in it. Still a fun game for a second project in game genre. I suggest make uptade buttons more visible. Edit : most people don't really put audio at most things in their second game so thats good
