The music is making atmosphere. I like cyan blocks, it's satisfying every time I jump on it and it rotates :D Player's glow and trail are really cool, graphics are very simple. It would be nice to have more obstacles that can hurt. Nice job!

Pretty fun .

Nice entry :) I would appreciate a broader view of the scene, but it was pretty fun

Developer

Ok, I'll make sure to change it after the jam.

I think this is my favorite game that has very basic graphics. I tried my hand at pixel art and thought it went well, but sometimes simplicity is everything.

Speaking of which, do you mind trying my game?

Thank you, I'll make sure I try your game

I love the feeling. It could use some more graphic touch and making sure that boxes end up where they should be. I moved one of the boxes on the other side of hole and couldn't move it back, so I had to start over.

Developer

Sorry about that, I made the hole too big, it could have been better but the engine I use could not load the level, so sorry about that

Nice game with simple graphics.

Although I got stuck somewhere and wasn't sure if this was the end or if I did something wrong.

And since there were no checkpoints restarting the entire level was the only way to go back.

I think most people below make really good points on how to make the game feel nicer.

  • A bigger viewport of the camera
  • Maybe adding the how-to as text in-game inside the level makes it feel less like a wall of text as well as only telling the information when it's visually present and needed.
  • remove or reduce the effect of the trail and maybe add some slight particle system at the bottom of the player instead
  • and maybe always assume the player might fail at one of the puzzles and give them the ability to fix it somehow without having to go through the entire level to  choose not to push the box

All in all, if you add some story to it and do some of these things I'm sure your game will feel even better.

Good job!

good game, aaltrough i'm not a fan of the graphics, the platformer and phisic system woerks well. Only complain is that game screen could be bigger allowing to see more game space. Still good game

Nice little platformer, but lacks quite a bit of design and feel.

  • For example the how to menu, the random end menu just didn't fit the clean feel for the rest of the game.
  • The trail behind the player detracted more from the art style than added to it, it made it a bit more distracting.
  • From as far as I could see there are two puzzles where the player can get stuck, one of them I did get stuck. #
  • The first one is the one with three blocks stacked in a staircase. If a player knocks one block off the other, it will be set in a row and the player will not jump high enough(I haven't tested it, I'm just assuming)
  • The second one I did get stuck on, was the big cyan wall meeting the smaller dark blue wall. It simply doesn't move, and I wouldn't be able to jump over it.

But overall nice job! I would recommend you check out the hit Indie game 'Thomas was Alone' your game definitely reminds me of that.

Also thanks for adding a quit button. I'm getting tired of bringing up task manager for every other game.

Developer

Thanks, the cyan blocks can be rotated, if you press the move key and jump, it will fall and form a bridge

As you can see it was too late

Developer

Sorry about that

Developer

The End button was a mistake, I had wanted to delete but I forgot, it was supposed to add as a backstory to the game along side the little link

Simple but fun, good job

Developer

Thanks

nice block game. Not sure how it fits the theme but the blue trail is wonderful. Also notice how smart are you to make difference on the floor texture to let players know they are actually walking

The movement felt good, and I liked that my player had a blue trail, it added some visual interest to the game. It's a little simple, though!
